IKEA has cute, inexpensive cribs ($59 to $159). I've never seen any others that come close to that price. See the Web site at www.ikea.com. Search under children's IKEA or call the Frisco store at ###-###-####. Hope that helps.

Try using www.Freecycle.org

You have to sign up online (kind of like mamasource) based on your location and then you can post a request for a crib. You can also see what is being given away (someone may post a crib for giveaway and you can respond).

Good Luck!

PS. Texas is in the Southwest grouping. There are a couple of different Dallas freecycle groups. There is one for all DFW, one for East Dallas, one for Fort Worth and more. Just look through the list to see which one(s) you want to join.

When we were searching for a crib, we wanted something economical, but still safe. We were able to locate a great crib that we love in the JC Penny's catelog for about $200. If you order the item and have it shipped to the store, you will be able to greatly reduce your shipping costs as well. Alternatively, you may try IKEA. Although I have not seen their cribs, I understand that they are also very affordable and still meet all of the recommended safety guidelines. If you decide to purchase a used crib, remember that the rule is if you can fit a soda can between the rails, they are too wide.

Best of luck

I have always had good luck at atrget or walmart to find one for about $100.00 or less. Garage sales are also an excellant source. You can find great bargins. the best time to go is either on a friday morning starting at 7 or soemtimes on Thrusdays. Thrift stores have great bargins as well.

I have a crib w/matress that I would like to sell. I have one daughter and she is the only one who has ever used it. It is in excellent condition. There is a full size permanent side rail on one side, and the other side comes with two side rails. A full size that can be lowered of course while the baby is small, and a half size for when you want to turn it into a toddler bed. The crib is light tan in color. The only thing we are using it for now is to keep all of my daughters stuffed animals in it. I'm asking $100 for it including the mattress.
