We just moved here and are looking at a house south of 75th off Naper Blvd. Does anyone know the approximate travel time from that area to the train station on weekday mornings? My husband would probably take the 8:24am express train. Thanks!

Hi Cara,

I think the best thing you can do is drive this yourself one day at that time of day so you can see what the traffic is like. We live on the north side of town precisely because my husband did not want a commute on top of his commute. The parking situation is not good. You can pay to get on the wait list w/ the city, but it is approximately 5 years long to get a spot at the Washington St. Station. Mr Kwik's garage used to have some spots for sale for $80 / month -- they are a couple blocks north of the station on Washington. The daily spots fill before 6:30 am. My husband would get up early when he was commuting downtown, and either take a daily spot before 6:30 and then go to work out at the YMCA or he would take his gym stuff with him and work out before work downtown. Make sure that you are okay with the commute in both directions because the home trains aren't always met with PACE busses after a certain time, so if you are planning on using that make sure they work for you in both directions. Welcome and good luck!

Hi Cara,

You would probably need to give yourself at least 15 minutes if you are dropping him off. Being new to Naperville I'm not sure if you are aware of the parking situation at the downtown train station. There is a waiting list of years for a parking spot and at 8:42 the metered spots would all be taken. Do you know about the PACE service? It's a free bus that picks up in a variety of places and goes to the train station. Welcome to Naperville! I've lived here for 7 years so feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions!

I am not sure if you are refering to the downtown Naperville lot or RT 59? I take the RT 59 train but I thought I heard it is difficult to find parking on the downtain station. I would think the daily spots would be taken by 820.
