Too Good to Be Healthy Recipe!!

I thought I'd share an awesome recipe. I've had it for over a year and finally made it. It tastes like chocolate chip cookies!!

Powerballs:
1 c. honey & 1 c. peanut butter mix until smooth. Add 3 cups old fashioned oats, 1/2 c. ground flaxseed. Mix by hand. Then add 1 c. chocolate chips, 1/2 cup raisins, 1/2 cup chopped nuts. The last cup of "stuff" you can substitue, for example cranberries. Smoosh it all together into little balls. You can keep them in the fridge or freezer.

I used nestle chips, I'm sure you could use dark chocolate and make them healthier. Anyone else have any awesome good for kids recipes to share?

OMGosh!! we are eating them right now! fantastic! I have a new after school snack, for sure!
I used 1/2 c of almond butter and a 1/2 c of crunchy peanut butter.

Thanks for sharing your recipe. This is a GREAT recipe and very tasty. It's not super healthy but definitely more healthy than other treats.

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins
-1c wheat flour and 1/4 c regular flour >>>
 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
 1/4 tsp salt
 1 egg
 2/3 c sugar
 1/4 c butter melted and 1/4 c canola oil >>>
 1/4 c lowfat milk
 3/4 c semi-sweet mini chocolate chips
 3 ripe mashed bananas

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line twelve 1/3 cup muffin tin with foil liners. Mix flour, baking powder and salt in large bowl. Mix mashed bananas, egg, sugar, melted butter/oil, and milk. Stir dry ingredients into banana mixture just until blended (do not over mix). Fold in chocolate chips. Divide batter among prepared muffin cups filling each 3/4 full. Bake muffins until tops are a golden brown and tester comes out clean, about 25-30 minutes. Transfer to wire rack to cool.

Here I thought I'd made that recipe up when I was 12 and experimenting with food. Oh well, I'd probably seen it somewhere! It was one of my favorites! Though, I used cocoa powder, honey and almond butter with oats (the almonds have more better-for-you fats than peanuts). I would sometimes substitute in carob powder instead of cocoa, too. I called it my fudge and I'd make a small bowl (1/4c honey, 1/4 c peanut butter, 1/4 c or less cocoa powder, 1/4 c or more oats) nearly every day after school for a snack.

Ah, yes, we used to call these peanut butter balls! If you'd like to skip the raisins and/or choc. chips you can add honey instead :)

Hi M.!
Sounds yummy!! I'm going to try it, but have a question for u. Do u use quick cooking oats or the regular ones???

The one recipe that we use here is 1/2 cup of "quick" oats, 1/2 cup chopped up unsalted peanuts, 1/2 cup of milk chocolate and peanut butter chips. Very easy, u just melt the chocolate chips in the micorwave and then add all the other ingredients to it and then make tsp sized balls. I usually put them either on a plate or wax paper to dry for about 1/2 hour. Kids love them. You can also add raisins too.
