Hello S.. I can totally relate to you. I had that thinning hair problem.
I starting using products from a online wellness company about 3 years ago and my hair is thick and healthy. I experience very little shedding. I love the products so much, I started a home based partnership with the company to assit others in total wellness. I would love to share more information with you about the products and the company. this is not a solicitation, just a sharing of information.

Hi S.!

I also have lost hair and it has thinned out since I had my daughter 2 1/2 yrs ago and my son 8 1/2 months ago. I agree with all the Moms below to have your thyroid tested. I have a Hypothyroid so it does not help to the thinning of my hair. However, you can go to ULTA and by this product called Healthy Sexy Hair. It is a conditioner that is a spray and you leave it in all day. It has soy and tri-wheat. I used it before I had kids and it does help! My doctor also told me not to wash my hair everyday and that will help with not losing so many hairs. Hoping your hair will grow back soon! :)

Those awful hormones! Try continuing to take your prenatal vitamins...sometimes birth control pills cause this, stopping that helps. If there's no other medical reason...it will come back and thicken naturally over time...I went through this too. Hormone fluctuation causes it for me. Give it time...

some sort of vitamin supplement with a high level of biotin will be helpful. Or just taking Biotin supplements. For years I've been taking (on & off when I remember) these supplements by Futurebiotics called "Hair,Skin,& Nails" it has a purple cap. They are really good as far as vitamins go.
I had a lot of stress in my 20's and went through a hair thinning phase and the biotin did help. So did altering the way i handled stress :) Good Luck!
A regular physical exam to rule out any aberrations in your physiological chemisty might be a good idea too. Although my thyroid functions within normal range (toward the lower, more hyper end though) literally every other woman I know is taking some sort of something because their thyroid is out of wack?! It's an interesting thing to note...makes me wonder why that might be :)

talk to your doctor- it could be hormonal or diet....especially if those kiddoes are sucking your energy out!!! They may be getting your hair, too.

Dear S.,
You might try using Biotin mineral supplements. They can purchased. at any health of food store. Increase your vitamin A and try a hair conditioner that you leave in.
I think" Infusium 23" has such a one.
I hope this helps. Oh yeah good sleep pattern, (I know that may seem impossible.God Bless

Welcome to my world. Go to the Dr. and make sure all is ok. Stress can also cause hair loss. After pregnancy hair thins.

In my mothers family all the women have thinning hair. Mine started thinning in my mid 30's, now it is really thinning and I am in my late 40's. I now use Minoxidill 2% and a product from the Niproxin company.

What these products do is to open the hair shafts to allow the hair to come out. And also makes the hair shafts stronger. Start now and keep it up.

I asked a friend about extensions, she said it is not good for this problem, but she has had some clients have hair plugs and it has made a big difference...

I am going to watch your posting to see what others have had luck with.

THere are lots of hair and nail vitamins out there, but please have you thyroid checked. This is a symptom of an out of whack thyroid.

Good Morning,

I would suggest getting your thyroid checked. After my daughter was born my thyroid was barely functioning. My hair would fall out by the handfuls, I was tired, I was hot, I could not loose weight and just gained weight. I don't know for sure, but it could be your thyroid.

Have a great day,
DB

Hi S.,

I had searched on scalp massage oils recently and found this:

Coconut oil massage is a cooling massage to prevent thinning and graying.

Rosemary and lavender stimulates the scalp for better and healthy growth of hair.

Who couldn't use a good scalp massage? That particular site said to leave it on for at least an hour but it doesn't hurt to leave it in over night. I wouldn't ignore the advice of the other ladies, though. Hope this helps.

Everybody suggests Tyroid testing, so don't ignore that, you should go get checked.

I am a consultant with Arbonne and we have an awesome shampoo and a product called thermal fusion scalp revitalizer. It is great!!! My father is balding, so he
started using it and within 3 months we could see a big difference in the amount of hair he has. He has been using it for 10 months and I don't think he is going to stop:) I see so much new hair growth every month.

He also referred his sister because she has VERY thin hair and it would fall out, she started the products and her hair stopped falling out. She has the usual shed, but nothing like she had before.

I have before and after pics of my dad, if you want to take a look!!

Arbonne has a 45 money back guarentee, so there is really no risk. If you would like more information, please call me or message me. I hope I can help!!

Sweetie, you need to get your doctor to run a full Thyroid panel and a T3 and T4 level.

You probably are so out of energy because it is out of whack. Your thyroid controls EVERYTHING in your body and you don't realize it. It is a very easy treatment to fix it, but the meds have to be taken EVERY day.

Bless your heart and welcome to motherhood...our children really do suck it out of us sometimes!! ;)

Have your thyroid checked asap! It is a simple blood test. It is treated with pills and not a big deal, but you will notice more energy and more hair with treatment.

This is a shot in the dark but worth throwing out there. My girlfriend has had Irritable Bowel Syndrome for about 7 years now. ...so she thought it was IBS. Her symptoms have recently worsened. Hair loss, funny colored skin (anemia), etc. It started with her losing her hair. Turns out she has Celiac's disease (gluten intolerance). If any of these other symptoms effect you, you may consider being tested. The gluten damages the intestinal villi, preventing the absorbtion of essential nutrients. Good luck to you.

Losing your hair after a child is actually pretty normal. The hair follicles stop dying while you're pregnant, and then all the ones that were supposed to die while preggers die at the same time after you have the baby. Eat well, keep taking your prenatals, and a new round of follicles will grow new hair. You'll probably have a halo of thousands of inch long hairs coming in soon, and then it'll all even out over time. Sometimes a haircut fixes this awkward period. You've probably noticed that new moms have a habit of cropping their hair shorter.

Don't be alarmed but there is a condition women sometimes get. It is called Alopecia. I started getting it when I was about 27 years old. You might want to go to a dermatologist for a check up. What happened to me is that my hair started shedding in the top of the head.

Also you could try a hair conditioning/strengthening product called Infusium. It is a leave in conditioner that possibly might help.
