The View Vs. the Talk

Does anyone watch these shows? Why do you like them or like one better than the other? If you don't like them, why not? Do you like all of the hosts, or not like them or one in particular?

Someone else posted a question about "The View" but it was really a question about if a marriage can survive without sex. I have been thinking about posting this question since The Talk came out and is in "competition" with The View.

I have watched The View for many years. I do tape both shows and watch them when I can. I have opinions about both shows and was wondering if you do too?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the opinions. I actually think its funny that someone said it's a show I "like". I didn't say I liked it, I said I've watched for many years. I agree there is too much arguing and all the b.s. politics and I think Joy is rude as well as Whoopie rolling her eyes at Sherri, etc. And The Talk, is a little better but Leah is rude to most guests, is overbearing and loud and is a turn off to watch. I tape both shows daily but only watch the first few minutes to see who will be on and only watch if it's someone or something I'm interested in. So really I watch maybe 2 or 3 a month. As far as Cathy saying its a waste of time and I should be doing something better with my time...that doesn't even deserve a response. Have a great day everyone!!!

Sorry to rip on a show that you like but since you asked.... I will have to say that I HATE the View. I will never ever watch it. Whoopie and Joy are horrible haters in my opinion. They are mean spirited and only seek to advance their own agenda. They clearly do not even want to entertain opinions other than their own.

I haven't had a chance to watch the other show yet.

I used to love watching the view. Then Rosie O'Donnell joined and that was a huge turn off for me. I stopped watching. Then they added Whoopie. She was awful. And now Joy is no longer funny. These 3 women are the most hateful, racist, and liberal blabbermouths I've ever seen. I have completely stopped watching these hate-mongers. I tried to watch The Talk because I really like Leah Remini. But, the shows got boring. So I watch neither now.

My son has hi-jacked the t.v. and it's on Nick Jr. most morning. :)

I do not watch either of these shows by choice.

My obgyn's office always had The View on so I'd have to suffer through it in the waiting room during my twice weekly prenatal visits.

To me they are nothing but a bunch of clucky hens, gossiping and trying to get each other into catty little fights.

Neither. I watched the View a long time ago but got sick of them bashing President Bush and ganging up on Elizabeth for being conservative. I can't stomach Joy. She is hilarious but so hateful if you disagree with her views.

I can't stand any of those shows where the women are cackling over guests or are all speaking at once to get their views across, loudly.

I used to watch The View when they had Meredith on there. I could enjoy it then. When the cast started changing though, it became overly political for me. I am a liberal and yet I can't STAND Joy on that show as she just comes across as a witch everytime she opens her mouth and completely disregards anything that the Elizabeth girl has to say (I should say that I agree with some conservative arguments too so I don't think everything she says is ridiculous). They can't talk about ANYTHING without it relating back to politics somehow and it just doesn't have the same quality that it had when it first started. I don't watch it anymore unless it's on the TV of my doctors office or some place like that that I'm waiting at.

I have never watched The Talk as I'm not usually busy getting ready for work when it comes on.

I don't watch either show.....I don't watch much TV in general.

Do they both have an all women panel? The one show that started first, with the all women panel, just put me over the edge having to listen to all those high pitched women voices...and what have any of them really done with their lives but learn to talk, and talk a lot.

I prefer Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, The Doctors, Oprah...people who actually have an education we can learn from or have made a difference in real peoples lives.

AND...what was the jury on marriages surviving a sexless marriage? Our sex life has dwindled to near nothing... sometimes it is months..... I am not too happy about it, but I wouldn't step outside my marriage to 'fix' the problem.

May I politely suggest you fill that time with something a bit more worthwhile. Something that fills your heart, feeds your soul, educates you, is creative, is new, is helpful. Watching any show daily is a grind. Don't waste your time judging. TV is a choice and there are so many more choices!

"Television for stupid women" is what my sister calls "the view". I tend to agree. I have not watched the other show.

THE only time I have seen the View is in the doctor's office and it was the most annoying 20 minutes I have ever had in my life. For that reason I refuse to watch any of those shows, I think the Joy Behar show is like that and Greta Van Susern, I see them, cringe and immediately turn the channel. I think the same of Good Morning America, or whatever it's called with Al and that blonde.

I gave the talk a chance and just couldn't digest it. It seemed forced. The co-hosts seemed too out there, too loud, saying stuff just for the sake of saying. maybe it got better but i couldn't force myself to watch it anymore.
I like the view. I think sherri shephard does not belong there. Early one she made a comment about earth being flat, and being shocked that it actually wasn't. made me sad they hired someone who isn't smart.
So, yeah the view.

I love the talk, what I love about it is that it is ALWAYS about being the best mother we can with out telling you how but advising you of the options. I enjoy all of the panel members and have something that I can relate to with each. All of the guests that I have seen discusses something to do with being a parent, and bringing something new to the table to think about and showing us that WE ARE ALL THE SAME! I never got into the view personally i could not relate with the panel, what i saw was too political and too mean. I love what the talk shows me frequently becuase they raise my awareness with out shoving it down my throat and telling me what i am doing is wrong. So there's my 2cents.

I will watch the view every blue moon. I was the one who posted about the view the other day. It was in regards to a women not having sex with her husband in 2 years. My husband would be fit to be tied after 2 weeks.LOL There would be no living with him.

Anyway, My job is high stress. I work in a courthouse so when I'm not working, which is rare, I will tune into something that is not so serious.because I don't want to think. The only show that I watch on TV is Y&R (young and the restless) I usually catch it on soap net at 7:00 p.m. and that's it for me.

I love The View. It's annoying and cracks me up! I get a good laugh watching it. I also don't take it too seriously, it's just fluff TV. It's good to have it on in the background when I am cleaning the house or doing laundry. And those that say to fill your time w/ better things - like they don't have a stupid show they watch :)

The Talk - never heard of it...

I have only seen the talk once for about 10 minutes and from what I saw, They don't have an obnoxious host on their, like Joy Behar on the view. So, I'd say the talk is better!

I used to watch the View sometimes, but now I cannot watch it anymore because I feel that they talk over each other. There is one lady in particular, that ALWAYS has to get her voice heard and interrupts. I enjoy hearing all of the opinions, but feel it is very chaotic. My favorite host, is Joy, she is the most open minded, the wisest and lightens up the group. I have not seen THe Talk.
