The Book "All About Me" or Something Equivalent

So I had this idea and thought it might work for Mother's Day... although it's not exactly a gift - it will be "homework" ! I was thinking that there are probably many things I don't know about my mom and things that I would like to know for me, for my kids, etc. So I was thinking of a fill-in-the-blanks type book where it would prompt her to tell stories about her childhood, life, etc.

Any suggestions?

Hallmark sells a book like your talking about. I got one for my father in law a couple years ago for fathers day. and got my husband one last year so he could fill it in for my kids. A few years ago something I did for my mom that was huge hit was to get a blank autograph book. and on each page I filled in a "memory" of my mom and something special. stuff about things we did, things I remember her doing etc. she cried the whole time she read it and loved it. she did it for her mom the next year lol.

Hi L.H. -

I've got the perfect thing, although I don't think we would make the Mother's Day timeframe :(
Go to my website: www.yourtreasuresinprint.com
Once there you can check out the numerous book templates along with all the other templates. We also have a "guide" to prompt you through questions...called Cornerstone books.
Please call me should you have any questions and I would be happy to help you in any way I can.
Feel free to set up a "free" account for yourself so that you can peruse the site.

Good Luck and I hope to hear from you!

Thank you,
T.

They actually make one of these. It is a journal style with all these different questions...I think it is a great idea...unfortunately my mom isn't the type to sit and write out the answers. In retrospect she loves to talk about stories maybe bring a small tape recorder when sitting around the table having coffee and ask questions?? Then you type it up and publish books or make audio cds? That would be a wonderful gift years down the line. Good luck!

There is a Dr. Seuss book "My book About Me"- it's a fill in the blank book, it's more for fun then prompting memories- but funny!
