S...have you ever heard of greeting cakes? Why send a card when you can send a cake? These cakes microwave in 2 minutes, and virtually any sentiment can be placed..You can check it out at www.greetingcakes4you.com

Congrats on the baby(tobe)...K.

Hi Stacey,

For my shower, I bought all the grandparents (that threw the shower) little picture trees (I think that's what they're called). I found them at Kohl's. They're kind of in the shape of a tree, and have these adorable little frames hanging from each of the little "branches." What a better way to say thanks then to let them celebrate with little pictures after the baby is born. A little pot of flowers is nice too.

Have fun at your shower!

Try to get a picture of you and each family member that is throwing you the shower and put it in a nice frame for them. Pictures are always a great gift that everyone appreciates.

Stacey,
My Shower was last October and I sent each of the three hosts a halloween/fall popcorn sampler from the Popcorn Factory. If you order through UPromise (which you should sign up for to start saving with some free match money from product sponsors) you can earn 3-5% cash back to your Upromise account. Look for half price order forms in the Sunday coupons, otherwise they have a lot of things in the $20 range.

Hi Stacey,
What about a baby picture of you and your husband? Get one of those frames that holds 2 pictures or my sister in law put the ultra sound picture in a frame.

Something that I really enjoyed giving my family members and family friends who hosted a baby shower for me were gift certificates to a spa. You may give whatever dollar amount but it is really appreciated and you can give a smaller amount for just a manicure or a larger amount whatever works. Or take them out to lunch to say thank you. Keep in mind though everyone is probably so excited for you having a baby that they really want to celebrate and are probably not concerned about a gift. Hope that helps and congratulations.

Good ideas here.
Also, never underestimate the power of a well thought out thank you note. Including a personal note about a rememberance you especially enjoy of you and that person and how excited you are to have them on your side as you pass through this special time. That can mean so much in this day of emails and IMs.
