My husband and I would love to start playing tennis, as well as going on nature hikes ... does anyone know of a good place to go for these types of things in the Collin County area? We really are trying to get back to being healthy as well as having fun. It is sometimes too hard or boring to go to the gym and we would really like to find something to do outdoors. I would appreciate any input you could give us. Thank you.

There are several places to go hiking-
Spring Creek Forest Preserve (1787 & 1770 Holford Rd Garland)
Rowlett Creek nature trail (Garland (NE Dallas County) Castle Dr & Centerville Rd)
Duck Creek Greenbelt trail (4917 Duck Creek Dr Garland, TX)
Lake Lavon Trinity Trail (From north of Wylie on TX 78: Come south on TX 78, shortly after the Wylie Municipal Complex and the new Wal-Mart, turn right (west) on Eubanks Lane (CR 389). When the road forks, bear right on Forrest Ross Road (CR 389) When it T's, turn left on Skyview Drive (CR 384) and then shortly turn right into the East Fork trail head which is bounded by a white pipe fence.

Tennis-
Garland Tennis Center (more affordable for beginners)
Spring Park Tennis Club
Highpoint tennis center

C.,
Check out the trails at the Heard Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney. I am also working on bringing a boot camp there. More info at http://www.myhealthforlife.info.

I second the Heard - good prices and great for kids too. I believe you can go on the Collin County website and get info as to the trails.

There are also tennis courts (I think 10) at Plano Senior High
