Talk About a Crappy Week.

So far this week I found out my mom might have to go through chemo after her mastectomy (which takes place on July 6th and I can't be there for it), broke a finger, and now headed to the Dr. for what I think might be an infection in my jaw. It's only freaking Tuesday! I know life could be so much worse. I have a roof over my head, a healthy family (I guess except for me and mom), and food in the fridge. Could use a laugh today, got any funny stories for me? Or maybe just tell me what your thankful for? Just need a moral boost.

I do have a funny story to kick it off.
My husband gets out of the shower and my two and half year old bust through the door looks at her dad before he covers up and shouts.

Raven: NAKED!! NAKED GIRL!
Husband: I am not a girl...I am a boy.
Raven: Ha ha ha funny naked girl.
Love that kid. :)

What can I do next?

After being toddler free for years we were blessed with our son Emerson who is now 4. Needless to say for the 21 years before him I slipped back into unmommy words. He is a typical boy and I find myself asking him a lot, "What the hell were you thinking?" The light in the kitchen is hanging by one loop, toys are missing wheels, the ceiling fan in his room no longer works right, the dog got painted, the garden plants pulled apart and the list goes on and on with Mr. Emerson. The other night I was not paying attention to what I was doing and made a mess and said Son of a b, Emerson came in looking really serious and said Son of a b, Mommy what the hell was you thinking?
Dad has just taken a drink of coke and spit it out trying not to laugh, guess mommy needs to watch what she says.

Well u gave me the laugh I needed!!!!!!!!!!! It's true we all have things to be thankful for but sometimes life can really throw us for a loop and it's okay to just want to sit back and think that it can't get any worse.

First of all, I hope that everything works out okay w/ur mom. We just went thru some pretty scary stuff lastweek w/my husband - he's been fighting cancer and they thought it had spread to his testicles & brain but thankfully the mri showed that there wasn't any cancerous growth in either area. WHEW! But that was after 2 1/2 wks of waiting - sweating, planning, thinking the worst. Anyways, you want a funny story - we are closing on our house sometime in July - doing a shortsale on our home b/c of this lovely economy so we decided to go fishing back in May & clultzy G. decides to go walk out on the rocks - stepped on a huge pointy rock (in flip flops) & just found out yesterday that the mri results showed that i tore the tendon that runs from my big toe to my back - so now it looks like i need surgery, oh & to stay off of it! Can u tell me how to do that w/moving, a 7 yr old, 13 yr old & husband working 2 jobs!!!!!! Plus I didn't even catch a damn fish!!!!!!!!!!!!! But like you, I have food in the fridge& I realize that life could be worse! If you ever need anyone to listen, my email is ____@____.com - best of luck w/all that your mom is going thru.

My 1 1/2 yr old runs outside with my husband after he gets home from work. They both want to golf in the backyard to relax a bit before dinner. My husband starts hitting golf balls, and the 1 1/2 yr old says, "DADA, watch!" Then proceeds to whack every golf ball in sight.

Apparently he didn't want Daddy to golf. Just watch him hit.

(I didn't even know he knew the word "watch" let alone how to use it!)
