I'm kind of freaking out at this point and know I need to clear my head....but this is a total surprise to me! I already have 3 beautiful children and had not planned on having another!!!! I don't know that I'm ready for this! I don't really have a choice now ~ but 4 kids!!! There are so many thoughts running through my mind but they are going so fast I don't even really know what they are! I know plenty of women that have been blessed with 4 or more children...is there any comforting thoughts that you can offer? My BFF said that her hardest transition was from 2 to 3.... and it has been rough on me as well.... my youngest will be 2 in October! And this little bundle will be a lot closer in age then any of my other children! I have already gotten rid of all my "baby" baby stuff and all my maternity clothes! ahhhh like I said I'm kind of freaking out! I just found out last night and my husband knows but he is out of town this week, so I'm hoping that my feelings of fear will change soon and I will be able to enjoy God's 4th blessing.

p.s. just found out that #4 is really #4 & #5!!!!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

This is my third update.... lol...... but we just found out the other day that they are boy/girl twins!!!! I'm so excited and that's what I really wanted!!! Not that I have much say in the matter but it's exciting! Now to start with names.... where do we begin! We are welcoming suggestions though!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!

This is my second update.....and I thought I was freaking out before!?!?!?! We On Thursday I had my first ultra sound....and you will never guess what..........WE'RE HAVING TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i didn't know that twins ran in my family until I told my mother there I was having twins. I guess my Grandmother is a twin.... we are not a very close family.

So now I'm freaking out even more! What do I do!?!?!? I know that God has had this planned since the dawn of time.....just wish He'd give me a peek at the play book every once in a while!

Where are we going to live? My child care provider for my 2 year old told me she didn't have room for 1... let alone 2!!! Besides how can I work with Twins? Would it even be worth it for me to work or would I just be paying for childcare? Now we will have to have 2 of everything! I already feel overwhelmed trying tomanage a full time job, husband and 3 kids.... will I survive mentally having 2 more!?!?!?

I know that after about 6 months things will hopefully get a little easier....but I guess you could say I am very overwhelmed right now.

My sister has 4 and said once you're used to 2, 4 is no big deal. But she had hers all close together(now 7.5, 6, 4, 2), so they are close in stages. At least your last 2 will be close. You're used to having the baby, so it won't be too hard. I bet the older ones will help too! Your oldest should be a great babysitter soon!

As for having gotten rid of your stuff, I can help! (In a way!) Check out this site: http://www.passitonsales.com

That is my sale. I know this is a plug, but we only have 2 sales a year, one is coming up in October and I would hate for you to miss it! TONS of baby clothes, gear, toys, all gently used at bargain prices. It won't cost much if you shop this way! If you are anywhere in the Portland area, you have to check it out!!!

I personally do not have four kids, but I grew up in a family of four and the fourth was a surprise. My mom and dad were having a tough time when she got pregnant with my little brother Marcus and she had a really hard pregnancy. She cried constantly and was really distraught. Of course she never could have known just how great it would be to have him later, but our family would not be the same without him. He is everyone's favorite and I know I wouldn't have had such a happy childhood without him (I'm the third).
It will be hard, but try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy as much as you did your planned ones because you don't know just how much joy this fourth one is going to bring you. Good luck!

P.S. There's a store in South Salem called Reruns for Kids and they have all kinds of great baby and maternity stuff that's second hand. Also, craigslist.org is a great place to look

I know how you feel! While I only have 2 children, Having the second was a huge deal as I had just been diagnosed with Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy. I cried and cried when I found out I was pregnant, not because I didnt want the baby but because I was so scared about keeping up with everything. It has been hard. I have learned to prioritize and I think that is the key to keeping your sanity. Remember that your other children can be a great help to you and their help with build their self esteem and their character. They can clean more, do dishes, fetch baby needs, entertain the baby etc. My son was only 21 months when my daughter was born but he is usually really good about fetching diapers, wipes, or putting things in trash or sink. I will admit that our house is often messy and the clean clothes are still in baskets. But my children are clean, dressed (usually lol) and fed. They are happy and they know I love them and thats whats important. Just take this time to enjoy being pregnant again (I dont know about you but feeling life inside of me was the most amazing thing ever) and being excited for the baby. It is perfectly acceptable to have a shower whe you have nothing for the baby!!! And if you attend church thats a great place to approach people with little ones and ask for hand-me downs. With infants often the clothes are only worn once or twice and look brand new. I think you will find this baby will just be such a blessing to your family! And you already have a babysitter!

Congratulations! I have 4 children too and I can tell you I wouldn't want anything different. Mine were 7,4,2 1/2 and then newborn. Of course everyone is astonished at those of us with more than 2-3. My friends thought since we had 2 girls and then a boy we were "done". Our darling #4 - a girl was my husband's 40 birthday present and they are the best buddies (same personalities).
I wish you many years of fun and enjoy the chaos---I just took child #1 to college and child #2 is going this weekend.
Babies keep us young.
Take care of yourself.

Hi J.. I have 4 children too. Funny thing was doctors told me I would not be able to have anymore children after my 3rd one. Anyways, my kids are 5,3,2, and 4 months. Talk about close in ages right. Anyways, the best part about having my 4 kids is each of them have a playmate but 2 of them go to school and so I only have 2 to deal with during the day. It was hard but once you get the hang of it, it is easier than taking care of 3. MUCH EASIER. Beings you have a 12 and 8 year old they both go to school so you only have 2 during the day. Don't sweat it. You'll do fine. I was scared too. But I wouldn't trade my daughter for nothing. Well congrats to you and hopefully your husband will not faint or anything. :). I am 24 with 4 kids.

Make sure your husband gets a vasectomy as soon as possible, they take a while before they actually work. This will put your mind more at ease right away & make preparations with your doctor(s) to have your tubes tied when you deliver as well. This should put you even more at ease. Number 4 is probably making you feel way old before your time. Do have your husband get the vasectomy while you are prenant & I know you wiil be able to enjoy this pregnancy knowing number 5 will not be on the way right after. Yes, children are all blessings in their own way but, sometimes moms just need a break. There is a place called "Back on the Rack" on Cornelius Pass road near TV highway that has tons of Maternity clothes, baby stuff & kids clothes. I recomend looking there right away. look on Craigslist.org for stuff too. Use yahoo yellow pages and do a search for second hand, vintage, consignment, used clothing. Hope this helps.

I have two.. they are 2 and 3... I want more.. but not now..

We plan to have another.. my husband wants only ONE more..
I can't see just having one more.. we plan to wait about five years. So when our youngest is 7 we'll start all over again!

Crazy I know. So my point we'll probably have two more, why?
Because I can't see having just one more it would be like having an only child.

Look at it like this... your 2 year old might be upset at first but when he's bigger and is really close to his sibling he'll thank you!

it will be difficut.. but in the long run you'll have a loving family, more grandchildren, a bigger family to love!!
