I would love to buy the Saladmaster cookware, but it's too expensive for us right now. Did some searching online and found Waterless Cookware. Does anyone have any experience with either one? Thanks!

I bought saladmaster over 30 yrs ago(I am 60 now) and it is still like new. It is well worth the price. I do not know what the price is now but, IMO, you will never have to buy another set. If you add up what you spend on pots and pans that do not last very long, you will see you will spend $$$$$ more.

Hi M.,

We have saladmaster and love it, it was recommended to us by inlaws. They have had theirs for 25 years and it looks news. The Dallas Fair has a booth for it every year and may offer a sale and we received a notice near Christmas last year they had pieces 50% off. Maybe you could buy a piece at a time and build up slowly. Its really great, you have to be careful with temp since they conduct heat really well (cook "hot").
Good luck!

My husband and I purchased Saladmaster about 6 years ago. Wonderful cookware that holds up amazingly. However I think the most conforting thing is the non-toxic surface they offer. I will say we do not use them as they were intented all the time. So what we paid for well... we rell our grown children when we die go for the cookware HA.

I have stainless waterless cookware and have been using it since 1968 apx. love it. but it was costly back then. We got it at a party Dinner meeting (only way to buy it ) but My cookware look nice still when I take the time to scrub the marks off it. the handles are a little the worse for wear but hey years does that to you. I have a beautiful turkey roaster that came with the set. and I'd not trade it for any amount of money. I can cook a tough generic turkey and make it as tender as a butterball have in fact. love mine. KC

My mother bought waterless cookware when I was about 13 or 14. When I was engaged (in 1978), my sweetie and I purchased a set of waterless cookware from Westbend. Both sets are still in use and are wonderful to use. I highly recommend them. The bottoms on mine are 5-ply. My sister also has a set, and hers has a steam valve on the lids, so there are many types out there. Good luck...

You may want to try craigslist.com and see if you can find the ones that you want? I have found furniture and things on there that have been great quality.

I am 46 (OUCH), thankfully look and feel 30's. When I was about 4, my mom got a Saladmaster set. SHe is still using the same set of cookware and you would never know it is that old. Still shiny, well, kept. Just last year, something happened to one of the lids, she called them to see about a replacement and they sent her a NEW pan and lid at no charge. She LOVES it.

I use All-Clad. It is pricey as well. I paid abbout $600 for a 10 piece set and then I bought extra pieces I wanted. I LOVE it. It also has a great warranty. I think the smallest pot I got was about $120 but I am very glad I have this set. It cleans up well, very shiny, still looks new.

Good luck!
Susan

I bought a set of Lifetime Stainless Steel cookware 28 yrs
ago and am still using it everyday. It too is waterless, but
I do put a small amount of water in pan. I consider this one of the best investments I ever made. I had a dinner where you asked several people to come and the sales person cooks a meal
in your kitchen and demonstrates the cookware. Then hopefully
they will purchase or want to have a dinner. You get credit
toward your set this way and at that time after you got to a certain point of having yours paid for, they gave you the set and you finished by making monthly payments. Do not know if this type of plan is still used and do not know what Saladmaster is. So hope this gas been helpful

I purchased waterless cookware 30 years ago, and I am still using it. It is very durable. Cost me alot of money back then, I don't remember how much but I was a kid fresh out of high school with a $350 a month job and I had to take out a loan for it, but I think I've gotten my moneys worth.

I bought a waterless cookware set when I was 18. I still have it, but the items I cook on most are the $10 sauce pans that I bought from Marshall's. I use our $4 steamer in my waterless pots - with water - and love the fact that they will seal tight after I pull them off the burner, so the food continues to cook. I'm just not sure that feature was worth the money I paid for the set more than 20 years ago.

My father gave us a set of Saladmaster Cookware for a wedding gift 44 years ago this April. I am still using it. When a piece deteriorated for any reason, they replaced it at no cost to me. I recently sent them my small skillet because the handle connection had come off. They replaced the pan with a new one and only charged me for the shipping. Save your money and get the real thing! It's well worth it. You'll never buy another piece of cookware again. You won't have to!

Hi M.,

I just purchased a saladmaster set and I am paying it off with 6 mos no interest. What won me over is the fact that the new Saladmaster cookware is made with a surgical steel that does not get into your food like aluminum and other cookware does. I will say that I feel like paying thousands of dollars for cookware is terrible and I am not happy about it, but My husband and I felt it would be best for our family's health. Let me know if you would like to have a dinner, and I will give you the info of my sales person, maryann. she is nice and not too pushy about the sale. You can earn free cookware by having a dinner with your friends over.

Best Wishes, J.

I've had "Permanent" waterless cookware for about 25-30 years. It has been wonderful and still looks like new. Of course, there are some pieces that I use more than the rest, so they have a bit more built-up grease that I haven't gotten cleaned off in spots. I think I replaced one plastic flange that fit around the base of a lid handle, but everything else has held up well. My set has a small & large skillet; small, medium & large stew pans; extra large stock pot; double boiler insert; six-cup egg poacher insert plus lids that fit all the sizes. Good luck finding what will work for you.

I bought the large set of the Saladmaster cookware last year. I love it and I know that I will have it forever. It's GREAT quality and I love the free cooking classes they offer once a month. It is expensive, but I'll never have to buy another set in my lifetime. I can even pass it on to my daugher, and it will still be under warranty for her. The Saladmaster show is interesting, even if your not in the market for cookware.

I have had Saladmaster cookware for 43 years. I have had to replace 2 pans in the course of these years. It is the best investment I have ever made. My pots and pans look better than most waterless cookware I have seen from other friends. No one can believe they are that old. When I did have to replace them....because of one of the handles, the company was wonderful and it only took a week for them to be shipped to me. What can I say!! They used to have financing available. It is worth it!!

I don't have experience with either of those, but I love my Pampered Chef stainless steel cookware. It's so easy to use and clean. Granted, I sell the stuff, so I'm a little biased. But, I had my doubts before I used it. Hope I didn't just add to the confusion. :)

We have the Royal Prestige Stainless Waterless cookware and absolutely love it. We had gone to a demo for the Saladmaster stuff and were sold on the product but didn't want to put the money into at the time and also wanted to research other brands. We ended up buying the Royal Prestige during the Dallas Home and Garden show a few years ago. If you don't go with Salad Master definitely get stainless steel of some kind, much safer to eat from than teflon coated pans.

I actually have some waterless cookware that I'd be willing to sell and part with :) They are really good for...um...waterless cooking ;) and when cooking veggies etc. I believe I still have the booklets to go with them too. My husband dislikes them so much that we barely use them! (He's the main cook in the family and does not cook waterless as much). Let me know!

BTW-I was reading the responses and now remember it is Royal Prestige...
