Stuffy Nose - Memphis,TN

Why does my 2 year old son get stopped up nose all the time and sometimes bloody noses at night? We live in the South and it has been very hot and humid here but this also happens in the winter too. I have read to use Neosporin or Petrolatum Jelly in the nose with a Q-tip. I don't know how well that will go over with him but I might try it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Try Ayr, it's a saline gel meant for kids. It really helps my son, he has the same issues.

Doctor.

Allergies or Infections (bacterial, viral, fungal) of the nasopharyngeal passage, sinuses, or ears can all cause stuffy noses. Most, easily treatable. When it goes beyond a cold... Take them in.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I was told to NEVER put petroleum jelly in the nose because if it's breathed in it could be fatal. Please ask a doctor before you try that.

change in temperature will give your nasal problems, hot outside, cool inside. Makes things expand and contract in the nose.

I want to say allergies. How bout a nasal spray but most over the counter you can only use 3 days in a row because they make you more congested. Dry in the winter explains nose bleeds. Hot and Humid summers explain it too. What about a humidifier at night in his room.

I would call the doctor and ask what they think or even a pharmacist

I understand that it's humid out. Is it really dry inside? My aunt had nose bleeds and really dry boogers when we visited a dry climate.
