Can anyone recommend a good, sturdy, reasonable $$$(under $130.00) stroller for a child that is over 40lbs. Most of the strollers have a weight limit of 40lbs. and although my daughter is not quite 4, she is not only tall for her age, but is over 41 lbs.

What can I do next?

Good luck... My son was 45lbs. when he turned 3. He's now 4 and is 54 lbs. Thankfully he's really tall too!!! I looked when I was pregnant with my daughter and most of the strollers were only good up to 45 lbs. I think the manufacturers think that by the time they weight 45 lbs. they are old enough to not need a stroller. Again, good luck and I hope you find one that will accomodate your needs!

we have a graco quattro that I believe accommodates children up to 50lbs. It itself is pretty heavy and cumbersome to steer, though really comfortable for our daughter. I recently bought an inglesina compact umbrella stroller, the urbe model which is discontinued now I believe but still available to purchase online, and its amazing. Its heavier than most umbrellas and very very sturdy. I would imagine a 40lb child would be fine in it. I bought it new on ebay for 100. It steers like a dream, I have no complaints about it whatsoever
good luck!.

I would strongly recommended posting a wanted on your local freecycle.

Hi G.,
Most jogging strollers accomodate children up to 50 lbs. and are a dream to push. If you get one of the ones with the swivel wheel in front, they fold more compactly, and you can even remove the wheels easily on most of them. They're not great for getting through narrow store aisles in a mall, but they're great for everything else. The In-step/schwinn brands are less expensive than the other brands, but my instep has lasted me through about 7 years and at least 3 kids. We have 6 kids, soon to be 7, and have been through several strollers. the joggers are by far my favorite. We also have a Peg Perego Pliko that is smaller, and has a toddler step on the back, too. But I'm not sure what the weight limit is on that. Check out Ebay to get great strollers, even brand new, for a fraction of what you'd pay elsewhere. Good luck.

You could go for a Maclaren Volo or Maclaren Triumph (2007 or 2006 model). They go up to 55 lbs!

Hope that helps
