St.Charles County Area Pediatrician Recommendations for First Time Parents

Stay away from Schlansky, My sister went to him as an infant. She had continous ear infection from 6 mo to the age of 4, finally my mother insited she see an ENT, he wasn't happy about that at all. The Ent diagnosed my sister as 70%deaf do to the ear infections. However my mother gave Dr. S the benefit of the doubt, when my first child was born I went ahead and went to him as well. I took my baby in and told him how she had run a low grade fever the night before I asked if he thought she might have the same problems as my sister? He told me I was just being paranoid and as a new mom I was overreacting, that night at 3:00 a.m my babys ear ruptured. Needless to say we never went back.
Try Dr. Sateesha I took my daughter to her the very next day, she was wonderful. We went on to have 3 more children one who was severly prmature with a not so bright forcast, Dr. Sateesha took great care and now she's exceeded all there expectations. She's in with St. Charles Clinic at ###-###-####. The other Dr's in the practice are just as great, they listen and if you call after hours they call back and actually will talk to you.
I could go on all day at what a great practice this is but just check them out yourself.

Hi A.! We too are choosing to delay vax. Right now I have a D.O. that I'm not thrilled with enough to recommend. But I can add, that while Dr. Eaton and St.Charles Pedicatrics are great, they are not very open to varying from the vaxing norm. Dr. Eaton was our first ped. and I really liked him, but he politely asked us to find a new dr. when we decided to delay the schedule. So unless something has changed recently, I probably wouldn't waste your time interviewing them.

Everyone has their opinions regarding vaccines, and I had expressed a wee-bit of concern b.c you hear "stuff" from everywhere now-a-days... my pediatrician talked to me about it and explained his views, his knowledge of the matters, and explained the way he does it with his very own children and I was more satisfied with that. I never had any intention of not vaccinating my child, but it was good to be cpmpletely reassured. (So, I can't say how they are about not vaccinating, etc.) I absolutely LOVE my pediatrician, I have never had to wait more than a day for an appointment, the nurses are always very prompt respinding to my calls to their nurse line (and answering my silliest questions w/o even laughing! haha), they have a well waiting room and a sick waiting room, the rooms have always been clean, the staff has alwasy been pleasant and seem to alwasy be very awre that even though this is their daily job and they see kids get sick and have shots, etc. all the time - the parents don;t and I like that. Everyone I asked for a referral from during my first pregnancy referred me here, so that was very reassuring as well. We see Dr. Adam Eaton, and my next door neighbor sees another Dr. on the staff and loves her too. We chose Dr. Eaton b.c he is young(er), and we really clicked with im when we interviewed him before my son was born. St. Charles County Pediatrics, 2740 Hwy 94 S, Ste A 63303, ###-###-####. Good luck finding someone you love as well. Beyond the vaccinations thing you want to make sure you are with someone you trust to care for your child, and that they are (basically) always available to you. I feel sorry for the folks that get on here and ask questions that to me they should be able to call their peds office and ask w/o issue. Anyway, good luck! YOu'll find someone awesome, I'm sure.

We have used St. Charles County Pediatrics for 23 yrs. There are several Dr.'s in this practice. I recommend that whatever Dr. you choose that you interview them first. That is what I did...take a list of questions with you. Take your spouse if possible since he may have to take the baby to the Dr.

The main Dr. is Howard Schlansky, but there are several other Drs., male and female, and fabulous nurse practicioners. A good feature is when you call they always try to get you in THAT day.
