How can I treat my 4 year old who has 2 canker sores on back of throats and one under the tongue? Well I think they are canker sores, looks just like them.
You need to take him to the pediatrician. This could be tonsillitis along with a sore under the tongue. The doctor can determine whether or not antibiotics are needed.
It could be a lot of things.
You treat your son by having your pediatrician take a look at it and then follow your doctors instructions.
Don't try to deal with this with any at-home remedies.

If you don't, take him to an urgent care center or a clinic. If you do, take him to be examined. This could be strep throat or any one of a number of things. Don't panic, but be careful.

The first step is proper diagnosis. If you are on the internet rather than calling the pediatrician, that's wasting precious time in finding relief for him. You could see if they have weekend hours (many do), or you could go to a Ready Med type of place, a walk-in clinic. Otherwise, talk to your pharmacist - they are really very knowledgeable and someone is on duty for long periods of time even on a weekend or after regular pediatrician office hours.
could be strep, hand foot mouth, mononucleosis or a canker. best bet is to see the dr for confirmation. then treatment for the actual problem can begin.
You should not treat them, you should have a doctor look at them. It could be any number of things, all needing their own specific treatments.
I've never seen them on the back of the throat - sounds painful. I would take him in, you don't want it getting any worse.
Ammonium Alum, a cooking spice used in making pickles will cure this. You wet the end of a q tip and press the end into the jar of cooking spice to pick up powder. You then have this small dab of the white powder carried on on a moist cotton swab and you press it directly against the sore for two full minutes by the clock twice a day for three days and it wipes out the canker sore FAST. The taste is intensely sour so you try to avoid tasting it too much. Also be sure the baby takes some vitamin C in the diet to aid healing. Its sold on Amazon.com or at the grocery section near mccormick seasonings and various spices. Keyword alum or ammonium alum.
poor little guy. that's so painful and distressing, and no way to distract from it, really.
obviously you get him to a doctor and get actual medicine for it.
in the meantime, i'd steep some local honey in fresh sage and give him teaspoons of it warm. but you shouldn't take home remedy advice off the internet. just saying what I'D do before the doctor appointment.

I agree with the hand foot and mouth.. I'd have him get checked out by his pediatrician. Just in case. In the mean time he can swish a mix of salt/water in mouth to help with pain as well as raw honey which helps soothe throat.
Agree with the others on seeing the pediatrician. My daughter gets canker sores periodically and I share my bottle of Peroxyl with her. It's like mouthwash but for dental sores. My dentist recommended it. However, I haven't heard of canker sores on the back of the throat, so it sounds like a doctor's expertise is in order.
