Selling at Once upon a Child

I am considering selling my Graco bassinet at Once Upon A Child. My son refuses to sleep in it so we got him a normal crib. It was only used for about 2 months and is in really good condition. Any idea how much I might get for this? Has anyone ever sold items like this to OUAC?

What can I do next?

I agree with everyone else. I use OUAC just to get rid of stuff without the care of how much I'm getting. If I have something I think should go for more, I would try Craigslist first. Yes, be prepared for people to offer you pennies on the dollar for what you want. But, you can always say no. On the other hand, I had a nice bassinet that I took to OUAC & got a pretty good price. You can also refuse the price at OUAC.

It depends upon the store. And it depends upon how much of the item they already have in the store. One store near me offers 50% of *their* selling price for baby hardgoods, while another in the area offers 30%-40%. Call the store and ask their policy. Be sure to ask if they give cash or only offer in-store credit. I usually give Craiglist a try first and then take what didn't sell to OUAC. I was pretty happy with the outcome when I got rid of all my baby stuff.

Edit: If you decide to sell on Craigslist, don't be surprised if most people ask to buy your stuff *much* below what you are asking! I was offered $15 for my daughter's crib. UOAC gave me $40 and put a $80 price tag on it.

they really do not give you a lot of money at all, I hate selling there bc I know how much I spent so I usually have my husband do it so I dont knwo what I get LOL. but if you look at what they sell the stuff for they really cant give you much bc they dont make much. I think it is fair for what they sell it for. if you are looking to get some real money for it I would suggest to try to sell it online yourself, but if you need to jsut get rid of it OUAC is fine.

You wont get much even if it is in great condition. I think they would probably sell it for only 20 or 30 bucks, and you'll only get 1/4 of that. I sold a 2t Columbia snow suit there that would have cost $80 brand new, they gave me $7 and I went back the next day and they were selling it for $25. Of course it probably varies by state, but I wont sell any equipment there anymore. Only clothes. Everything other than clothes I sell on craigslist because even though it is a little more work, I get the most money that way.

They don't give much for anything there. You will get about 1/4 of the amount they will turn around and sell it for. That is just how they make their money. I would put it up on craigslist! You could always take it to OUAC and ask how much they will take it for. Good Luck!!

you can almost always get more on craigslist, that way you get the money it is accually worth since once upon a child will give you half the price of what they will sell it for

You would get more on Craigslist. OUAC does not give very much for anything.

I agree with the group - Craigslist is usually the way to go but thought I would offer to other options. Children's Orchard (it's another resale place in Roseville - the downside you have to make an appointment. The upside they often pay higher.) Another option donate to a children's crisis nursery. Not only are you helping out someone in need but you can deduct it from your taxes. Good luck!

They don't give much money. You'll do lots better selling on Criags List.

Personally, I'd say put it on Craigslist. You'll get more for it.

Hehe...I felt highly amused when I read your title....I read that as "selling at ONCE, a child". I thought, oh boy someone has trouble on their hands. =) Glad to see it was a crib and not a kid.
As for your question, you might want to spend a week or so on Craig's list, see what pops up and use that as a baseline.
