Hi A.-
I have an in-home preschool for ages 18 mos and up. The kiddos I have right now range from ages 22 mos to 4 years. I keep my ratio low, which would really benefit a shy guy! I am a former elem teacher and I run my childcare like a preschool. If you would like more info please visit my website: www.msmandyspreschool.com or email me at ____@____.com.
I don't know if you've ever explored the in-home option, even if you have, you might want to give it a second look!

I worked as a preschool teacher in Plano for 8 years and have heard all the dirt and all the praise. If you are interested, especially in where not to go, you can message me privately.

Good Luck

My recommendation is Children's Discovery Center at Christ United Methodiat Church in Plano (Coit/Parker)

My now 14 yr old daughter went there and most of the staff are still there. Low turnover rate and the teachers and directors are wonderful. I substitute there on occasion so I am still involved with that school.

Another very good one in Plano is Teddy Bear Junction.

I highly recommend Teddy Bear Junction off of Independence and Spring Creek. Half of their teachers and administrative staff have been there for over 10 years. You can see all their great reviews here on Mammasource!

Please take a look at Teddy Bear Junction. TBJ will be starting its 24th school year in the Fall. It is a Christian preschool located in the Reformed Church in Plano. The class size for three year olds is no more than 15 children with 2 teachers. I will be happy to give you some parent references if you would like them. We have a very loving environment where children are introduced to academics in a developmentally appropriate manner. One of our staff was recognized as the 2009 Collin County AEYC Teacher of the Year.

Creative Playday at First United Methodist in Allen is just awesome. I cannot say enough good things about their program. The cirriculum is insightful and the love they pour out on the kids is so evident. We have been very pleased. You can call the director- Casey Garland at ###-###-####.

If you are worried about education I would look at Campbell Christian. They have very short hours, but most of there kids are reading and doing math by the 3rd week (even the 3 year olds) My 6 yr old son has been there for a year and he is working on long division and reading at a 3rd grade level. My 4 year old started last year and he can add and is reading better then most kindergardeners.
If you have any questions let me know. You can also look at there website http://www.campbellchristianacademy.com/ for more info
Good luck
H.

Check out Primrose schools. My son attends one in West Allen and it's wonderful. I can't say enough great things about what we've experienced at Primrose. I've never heard other parents say anything negitive about Primrose schools.

I also recommend Christ United Methodist in Plano - my son goes there and we LOVE it. I could not ask for better or more caring people to watch my son. He started last year right after he turned one - I was so nervous about leaving him but they made me feel so much better about it. They really care about the kids - and he learns so much there too. Their website is www.cdcplano.com.

Just today I filled out a registration form for Custer Road United Methodist Church preschool program. I have not personally seen it since I live outside of Texas (and the US) right now but went on the reccomendation of a friend. It is a 9a-2p program either 2 days, 3 days, or 5 days a week.

I highly recommend Primrose School of North Plano. It's off of Coit and Spring Creek. Primrose has a great reputation all around but this school is wonderful. They are having an open house on July 30th, you should stop by to take a look and meet the teachers! I'm sure you will love it! Good Luck with your search!

I highly recommend The Primrose School of Forest Creek, they offer a well rounded program that meets all areas to have a balanced child. They are having an open house on August 6, 2009 from 6:30 pm till 8;00 pm I would at least tour the school and see what you think. They are a full service preschool with extended hours for working parents. ###-###-####

My son was very shy as well and last school year we enrolled him at Wesley Christian Preschool, but it's in McKinney, right off of Virginia and 75. A wonderful, wonderful school. I can't say enough good things about them....the worries and concerns I had never even came true. He really grew out of his shell and was always so excited to be going to school. Even the once or twice time that he was feeling under the weather he was still wanting to go. That was another concern, the sicky germs, because he had never been to school before...but that was never an issue. I wish they had more grade levels so I could have continued sending him. Excellent school!!! Hope you find the one for you if this one is too far for you!

Hi A. - Some friends of mine have their kids at Cross Bend Christian Academy at 901 Cross Bend (near Parker and Alma) or another at Parkway Hills Baptist Church called Parkway Hills Weekday Preschool at 2700 Dallas Parkway (between Park and Parker off the Tollway). I have met and talked with the director at the Parkway Hill Preschool and loved her and her teachers...There are a lot of great schools out there but both of these I have heard have low teacher to student ratios so your son would get the attention he may need as a shy kiddo. Both of these places I would take my daughter to. Good luck!
