I have a 14 month old son who seems to be really interested in other children but we don't know very many people with kids in the area. I stay at home during the day and would like to find other parents who want to start a playgroup.
Thank you all for the responses! I joined a Kindermusik class last week that seems like it will be a lot of fun and I found a very active playgroup. I really appreciate all of the interest but at this point I think we have a full schedule. Thanks again everyone!

I know this is a failry old post but I was wondering if anyone started a playgroup? I had my first baby who is 12 weeks and I am interested in getting out of the house and just meeting other moms in the area with children. I work midnights but am available anytime during the day.

Hi, I have a 16 month old and we live in Dearborn. I just signed up for a Kindermusik class. THis class is for babies from 6 months to 3 years old. There is only one class that will meet Mondays from 10-10:45am in Dearborn (COtter Preschool). I, too, was looking for a playgroup near me, but since I can't seem to find one, I decided to take this class with my daughter. I am in South Redford. I'm at home for the time being with a 4 mos. old girl.My DD is 8 and my DS is 5. I sometimes watch a 2 year old that would love another boy to play with. What are your border streets?

I don't live in or near Redford, but suggest that you check with the City. I know in Sterling Heights the city has organized playgroups for a nominal fee that meet at the recreation center. Also check your local library. Most offer programs during the week for stay at home Mom's.
