Hi, we moved into NE San Antonio about a month ago, and am looking for a Dr. referral. I've been very fortunate with our previous Dr., I didn't have long wait times for well clinic visits, and when the kids were sick, they were very accommodating. There was a nurse I could speak to on the phone for advice that helped avoid any trips to urgent care or ER. I esp. want a Dr. who can accommodate us when the children are sick, and that has a good system in place for after hours medical advice, etc. Per policy, please respond with an individual, and not a public comment. Thanks again

We use Dr. Melanie Mitchell at Northeast Pediatric. Her office is located at 1604 and Stone Oak although they also have an office at at Starcrest and 410. My daughter was a preemie who started having febrile seizures (15 total - none for over a year now!). Any time Shelby was sick either Dr Mitchell or one of the other doctors - Dr Paulie is great too as is Dr. Quo - worked her in. The on call doctor ALWAYS called us back - even at midnight! Dr Mitchell always followed up with us by phone. In addition to wonderful care they were also supportive of us and our family. The nursing staff is great, the office is wonderful as is the on call nurse service. We used Dr Adrienne Vaughn at Alamo Allergy also off 1604 and Stone Oak - wonderful people.

Like Wendy, I also use Northeast Pediatrics, only our primary doctor is Dr. B. Scott Dooley. I love their offices and have never had a long wait whether it was a well visit or a sick visit. I've been able to get the boys in the day I call if needed and I find their staff very accomodating.

For allergies, my one son also see Drs. Vaughn (husband and wife team) at Alamo Asthma and Allergy. No complaints there either.

We use ABCD Pediatrics off of Stone Oak but they also have an office in Schertz if that is closer for you. I have never had trouble getting my kids in on short notice and the staff is great (if you need something signed for school or a shot record, they get it to you immediately). Our allergist is Dr. Gomez at Southwest Allergy and Asthma Associates on Sonterra (that is near 281 and 1604). They also have other offices around town, but I am not exactly sure where.
