I love the BOB stroller. It is a little bulky and spendy but a great stroller. You can get a car seat attachment for a baby and have an older child in the second seat.

We invested in a Phil and Ted's side by side double stroller, and still use it for our 3yr and 1 yr old frequently. There is also a tandem-type Phil and Ted's stroller that has worked well for a friend of ours who teaches Stroller Strides classes. We found our on "returnsforsale.com" at a discount, with a few scratch and dents, otw new, which took over a 100.00$$ off the retail price.

Hi! I have twins that are 2 yrs old. We got the Graco Duo Glider at my shower and its nice, BUT, very big and heavy to lift in/out of cars. Plus even though it has the storage at the bottom, its hard to access when you have the infant seat in the back seat.
I got tired of lugging it around so we bought a double umbrella stroller. We got the Jeep one. I like this much better. Lighter, easier to move around. It doesnt have much storage, but you can easily attach a diaper bag to the handles. Plus the kids are side by side so they can both see everything going on. Hope this helps!

Baby Jogger has an awesome stroller(the city series). I went through several double strollers and I wish I would have bought this one first because I never would have bought the others. It's a little pricey but in the long run it will probably be the only stroller you'll ever need and they have accessories you can buy online for infants.

I highly recommend the Phil and Ted spport double Stroller. it is a jogger and the infant can lay completely flat in it. it also has a toddler seat that can be removed so you don't need to worry about having the double if you don't need it and just clip it back on when you do. it is also not a side by side so fits through most spaces. http://www.philandteds.com/nz/sportdouble_07_1.htm
good luck.

I have a 2.5 yr old and a 4 month old as well. I got the Combi Twin Savvy side by side and LOVE IT!! It fits through standard door ways and folds up more compact than my single stroller. It also accepts the carrier on one side so if your newby is sleeping, you don't have to move them! It has been a perfect double stroller!! (PS I live in Phx Arizona!)

hi!! i am expecting baby girl #2 any day now (yesterday was my due date!) and we got the BEST double stroller! i did a TON of "research" and decided on the zooper tango. it is a side by side, and fits through standard 30" doors. it can hold an infant carrier car seat on one side (accepts many models) and both sides fully recline. also, both sides have FULL canopies that go all the way to the arm bar, even when the seats are fully reclined (perfect for the az sun!)! it has a cup holder for the parent and a large storage basket underneath. there is a zipper on both sides of the basket to access when the seats are reclined. it comes with a rain cover, uv sun shade, and a cold weather boot. this stroller has soooo many options, and is the perfect one for us. we got the 2008 model, which has a few more upgrades from the 2007. aslo, it fold really flat and fits in the trunk of my 2006 honda civic with room to spare! check it out at zooper.com as you can't see it in retail stores. we almost settled for a graco duoglider, but i am SSSOOOO glad we didn't!! good luck!

We love our Combi Twin Sport. It folds down to about the size of an umbrella stroller plus an extra set of wheels. Our kids love it. It's easy enough to push with one hand and fits through any door other than older buildings. I've even taken it with the kids into the bathroom stall with me. You can get them at Babies 'R Us.

I really like my Graco Sit and Stand stroller. My one year old sits in front and my 3 year old an either stand or sit in the back. It comes with a device to use a infant carrier it the front while your little one is really small.

I had a double stroller and hardly every used it. they're hard to maneuver and the weight distribution never seemed right. I was much more comfortable (and so were the kids) when the infant was in a front pack (and then a back pack when she was older) and her older brother was in our single stroller that I loved. I also figured I burned a few more calories :). If for some reason my youngest needed the stroller (it was rare she couldn't nap in the packs), I just made my oldest walk - it's good for them. If he was really whiny, I'd throw him in the backpack. But, I also have skinny, skinny kids - they haven't been above 15th percentile in weight since they were 6 months old so it was no big deal to carry them, even at 2 1/2 to 3 years old. Anyway, it seemed much easier than dealing w/an unwieldy double stroller.

Good luck! i had a need for one too. Tried a side by side storller and a stadium seating type of stoller, where one is behind the other but one child is higher that the other in the back. The problem with double strollers is if the weight isn't distributed in BOTH seats evenly.... it's not going to be easy to push or steer. I have 3 all 2 years apart, this was a big struggls for us. Never did find anything that worked. from what I discovered and also friends who went through this with me.... double strollers only seem to work if you have twins. I really hope you find something.. But with weight distribution and the kids being different weights, you might run into a lot of problems! Happy searching!

We have two double strollers. One is the BOB duallie. It is excellent if you are going on lots of walks or runs outdoors. We love taking it to the zoo too. It is very sturdy. It is a side by side. The drawback is that it is very expensive. It is harder to fold up too so I don't know if it would fit in your trunk. You can get an infant attachment. We also have a Graco double. It sits one child in front of the other. It is great if you are shopping and have to get through aisles or if you are going on very smooth flat areas. You can attach most car seats to it. My 2 year old is starting to not want to be in a stroller so those with the toddler steps/seats might work best for you as I imagine yours is probably getting out of strollers as well at that age.

I have a Combi side-by-side and I love it! Even shopping I do not feel that it is too wide. It easily fits through doors and folds up nice and easy. My girls both love it (they are 3 and 1) I do not know about the infant seat attachment though. The older one can get in and out easily if she decides she wants to walk.

Peg Perego! They are compact and recline. They are a bit pricey, but resale shops carry them. It is a side-by-side, and can easily fit through doorways. SO COMPACT AND LIGHT. I have a 4-year-old and an 8-month-old, perfect stroller. My mom has a huge one in front, one in back style double and it is heavy and hard to handle. Email me with any questions. I also have a 2 year old and a two month old and I have the graco duo glider. It has pros and cons much like any other sroller. It is very easy to open and close and easy to steer, but it is heavy and depending on the car you have will take up alot of room and may be hard to get it in and out of your car. It is nice that the car seat attaches to stroller. The front canopy is kind of short it barely goes over my 2 year olds head. I am looking at getting a jogger for exercising cuz it is MUCH easier to push but a side by side is kinda hard to maneuver in stores and things like that. If your two year old is a good listener you may like a sit and stand, my two year old would NEVER stay in one! It really depends on how you will be using it mostly, I think, as to which one is the best for you.

I love my Graco double stroller, but we have a mini-van, so it's easier to store. You'd have to check it out, to see if it fit in your trunk. It might if you take off the front tray and/or front sunshade, but that would be a pain to do every time you load it. You could try a sit and stand stroller. The infant carseat can usually hook into the front seat. It would probably work better, when your older child is a little older. Good luck with that...our kids are 18 months apart and it was hard figuring out which stroller to get!

I suggest the sit and stand type. The older child loves the freedom to stand or sit on the back, and it keeps them separated enough from the child in front. It's also not that bulky. I also have a side by side double stroller, but with a young baby who doesn't understand personal boundaries many problems can arise (i.e. hitting one another). Plus the width makes it a little difficult to go through doorways.

Sit n stand! I got mine online from Target for around $150, it is so worth it. I have a car with a pretty small trunk (I couldn't fit my Graco Travel system stroller in it) but this folds up pretty flat and fits perfectly in my trunk. It's not too heavy and folds up easily. The only complaint I have heard is about the basket being a little small but I use a diaper bag that can strap onto the handle bar (they also sell attatchments). My boys were 2 1/2 and newborn when I got this, too. Also, it fits between clothing racks and manuever very well.

I got the Graco double stroller when I was pregnant with my second daughter (she and my first daughter are almost exactly 3 years apart). I didn't use it as much then except for taking walks because I had a Corolla and while it would fit in the trunk, I would have to take it partly apart to get it in. When we got pregnant with my son, we got a van with a bigger trunk and I can't live without my double stroller. It has a nice sized basket for your stuff, a covered container for cell phone/keys, a cup holder for you, one for each kid as well as a snack holder for each of them, the infant car seat (Graco Snugride) snaps right onto it, and it does fold up pretty small. I thought it would be awkward to push it, but it is not at all. It's longer than a normal stroller, but pushes well. I've had it for a little over 2 years, use it just about everyday and is very durable. I hope this helps. :) Good luck.

This one is bulky (pretty much all double strollers are), but the most versatile as the car seat will snap into a base attached to your car but can also be released from the car base and attached to the stroller with plenty of room in the back for your older child. You can also recline the back seat for sleeping, and it has many other features. Again, it's not small, but it has the most versatile features in my opinion. Here's a link to one on eBay:

My 2 1/2 year old loves to ride in the back, plus it converts back to a one seater once she doesn't want to be pushed anymore! Philandteds.com

Looked into the sit and stands and a retailer told me she wouldn't sell them because she didn't think they were safe and had issues sending them back when a customer had issues with it. The manufacturer didn't have research on accidents either. I chose the greco also and it works for what we need it for. I would do more research if chosing a sit and stand.

when I had my 2nd baby my son was 2 , the thought of going out with both of them was scary ,but I got a Jeep double stroller it was a back to back stroller and it was BIG no matter how you slice it , but it held them both and I prefered the back to back to fit thru the grocery isles and at the mall to - NOT sure if they have come up with any new ones I am sure they have - I would go to babies r-us or somewhere and test them for your needs with cup holders and where your diaper bag goes and how it fits once it folds. Does it fold easily -wheel the floor model around the store and see what you think- Good luck!

We tried a tandem and I hated it! I don't know if it was the brand or what, but we had to get something for our trip to Disneyland last year. I wouldn't rest until I had a side-by-side. I LOVE MY BOB!!! We shopped around and ended up finding the same stroller from a different website. It fits through standard doorways! The front wheel swivels so it's easy to maneuver (a definite MUST if you're going to be in crowded places - you don't have to lift up the front end to turn), but if you're a jogger, the front wheel also locks AND I can get around most stores, too. I would not trade it for the world!!! We got it last summer for a 2 1/2 yo and infant.

And it doesn't hurt that it came in a cool color! We got orange! But there were a couple "normal" stroller colors, too.

I have a 2 year old and a 4 month old and I love our graco duo glide. It is so easy to push. My baby is our 3rd. I bought a idfferent double stroller when my second came along and hatedit. It was so hard to push. I borrowed a graco duo glide and it was great. We weren't able to borrow it this time so I spent the money on the duo glide. The only party that I don't like is that it is hard to get the infant seat out, but I would still buy it again. We have a graco infant seat as well. Other moms have suggested the sit and stand. My 2 year old won't stay in the stroller if he is not buckled in. We would be in the store and he would want out and when you are trying to get something done, that doesn't help :-). If he was a little older it probably would have been great. It was easy to push too so if your 2 1/2 year old will stay on the stroller without getting out that may be an option.

Try looking at Babytrend's 'Sit n Stand' stroller. I had a 2 1/2 year old and infant as well and it helped tremendously. It has an attachment for infant car seats, as well as 5 pt harness seatbelt for when the baby's a little older, plus accomodates an older child that can sit on the bench facing you or stand on a running board. The bench seat has a seatbelt so your toddler can't run around and a basket underneath also. It's about the size of a large single stroller, but the capacity of 2. I know you can get them used on ebay, but I bought it new & it was the best $150 item that I purchased for my children. I've seen them everywhere recently. Very easy to open/close and get out of the car, but I have an SUV. I still use it for larger shopping excursions and zoo trips for my now 3 yr old. (my 5 1/2 year old has finally out grown it, though he still tries to ride in it, I just can't push it!!)

we have a Phil and Ted's E3 and it is fabulous! As of 2.5 years ago, you could only get it online, but it's worth it. It's a single or double stroller, but you have to purchase the 2nd seat separately. There are other add-ons too, like the infant car seat hook-up. We didn't use that, I just laid the main seat down and let him lay down every time while his brother sat in the optional 2nd seat in front. Just google Phil and Ted's strollers and you can find a bunch. It isn't as bulky as a typical double and it is so easy to manage. I can push it with one hand without any issue. I actually found it easier than my old single Graco. Plus, your 2.5 year old probably won't want to stay in a stroller too much longer. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

We have two toddlers (one is very small) and just bought a tandem stroller that was also equipped with a carrier holder for the little babies. It is the coolest stroller because it is modular. You can turn both seats in different configuations and when the little one is bigger, it has the second seat. It is made my Kolcraft. It's the Contours Options and I ordered it from Target.com.
