Seeking Mom's Club And/or Playgroup for 1St Time Moms with Infants

I have heard great things about some Mom's Clubs or Playgroups in Dallas. It is a place where first-time moms can get together with their infants and support each other through all of the trials and tribulations of new parenting. Moms can ask questions in an open and honest environment, while building friendships and having a support group to go to. My daughter will be 8 weeks old on Tuesday. Ideally, I would love to join a group that has first-time Mom's of babies in a similar age-range in the SW Fort Worth or downtown Fort Worth area. Being a first time Mom is hard, and I would love to make new "Mom friends" that are at the same life stage and going through similar experiences.......together!

What can I do next?

Check out momsclub.org It is an international club. I was a part of the moms club of mansfield for 5 years. Also, if you check out your local library they may have a children's program. I started taking my son to the bouncing baby storytime at 7 months. Good luck! If you have any other questions or would like more info, send me a message.

Our church, The Church at Burleson (just south of Ft. Worth), has a Mom's Group that meets on Thursday's. It's not necessarily a group that consists of mom's with infants, but just of Mom's that want to get together, learn, and have some fun together! For more information, you can call the church office at ###-###-####. There are currently about 5 of us in the group, and childcare is provided for $5 (I think per child-but not positive on that-since I only have one 3 yr old). We are located on Wilshire Blvd in Burleson, off of I-35.

Momsclub.org they have a chapter in SW Fort Worth. It is $20 a year and they offer a calendar of activities every month. They also have a monthly night out for the moms. Another idea is to check out the hospital where you gave birth.

Check meetup.com. They seemed to have a lot of mommies groups, most of which were geared toward smaller kids.

I TOTALLY feel your pain... when I had my baby, I had just moved to the area and I didn't know anyone. The meetups.com that was mentioned is what I did. I helps a little. The only problem is you meet different people at each meetup and it is hard to make friends (at least for me). I joined a SW Fort Worth group, stroller strides, and FW Foxy mamas. Another problem is a lot of these groups are so spread out it takes up to 45 min for me to get to some of them and my daughter is not great in the car. I have been trying to find a church that has groups around here but it is not easy. I hope you have more luck than me :)
