Anyone have a suggestion as to a good female obstetrician in North Austin/Round Rock area? I want an OB who actually sees her patients every month instead of pawning them off onto nurse practitioners every other month.

What can I do next?

Stephanie McNelis is awesome. She delivered both of my girls, even scheduled inductions so that she would be there when things dictated it. She only had to reschedule on me once in 2 pregnancies and was never overly late. She is at Austin Diagnostic Clinic

My Ob/gyn has been an amazing doctor and was always ready to examine me in a timely manner, every month during my pregnancy. His name is Dr.Blumhagen and he is located in Seton Northwest on the 4th floor. He is part of the Austin Regional Clinic network. The number is ###-###-####. There are also women doctors at this location, if you prefer. I wish you well.

Laura Merrit at Ren. Women's Grou - she held my hand thru all the scary parts. I was a high risk preg. with my boy - I had 3 prior miscarriages - she saw me every week from 16 weeks till 37 weeks when I delivered. I adored her nurse, she even postponed a family vacation to be with me thru some testing I had done.
I cant say enough nice things about the personal care. She ROCKS!
Good luck!

Dr. Christina Sebestyan is at NAMC. She is very kind, a mom herself, wonderful caregiver. She does share her office with an awesome midwife, Lisa Carlyle, who will see patients too. However if you request to see Dr. S. every time, they will accomodate you no problem!

I have seen Dr. Karen Southmayd at Oakwood Women's Centre for years. Always seen her, not a nurse. BUT, when it's time for an annual she does have a waiting list. ###-###-#### - by Round Rock Hospital.

I just went for the first time to a gyn doctor here in the Round Rock area. Her name is Dr. Padgette and she is on Wyoming Springs (off 620). She seems to be a very thorough doctor in that they ask a lot of questions, more than any other doctor in any field has ever asked me, which I kind of thought was odd. I guess it comes in handy if something is wrong with you and then she has all the facts but on the down side of it my appts. was for 10:15 and I did not get out of there till 1:00. If I had to do it more than once a year I probably wouldn't go there but if you are looking for someone thorough and I did see her (the actual doctor), then you might try her. Another odd thing was that they have signs posted that no children are allowed there and it even says if you bring your child you will be asked to reschedule. I thought that was odd being she delivers children.

Dr. Melanie Collins at the Renaissance Women's Center delivered my daughter's baby last May. She would see the nurse practioner sometimes, but for the most part, she was seen by Dr. Collins, and Dr. Collins was awesome.

Dr. Meadows has proven to be unprofessional in both her professional and business dealings with us. We are expecting our second child and had a wonderful OB for our first delivery. Dr. Meadows has made us wait up to two hours for a scheduled appointment while patients who were not scheduled got straight in. It is very frustrating to get into the office for a five minute visit at three o'clock and be the last one out of the office while she deals with other things. In addition, the after hours number she gives forwards to a clinic. And when I was 33 weeks pregnant and too late to find another doctor she made me sign a paper saying there was an additional $50 fee that insurance would not pay for her to fill out two short forms. One for my maternity leave and another for disability, both standard forms that are required by my job and both short enough that my last doctor filled them out in one minute while I waited. Unprofessional is an understatement.
