Seeking Affordable Organic Cotton Diapers!

$15 a diaper may seem like a lot at the head, though you can get 10 diapers in each size (S, M, L) and supplement with the less expensive pre-folds or fitted diapers for use exclusively at home and it is still so much less than buying disposable diapers in the long run.
you can also pass your diapers on to friends and/or sell them on ebay/craigslist when you are done and get some of your money back. cloth diapers are by far the way to go.
our favorite diaper is expensive, though so worth it. the swaddlebees all in one. a firm step up from fuzzy bunz. they wear beautifully and our son has been in his size large for ~8 months now (with more room to grow) and they come out of the wash beautifully every time. the velour cleans up better than the fleece liner (which pills and gets irretrievably dingy over time.) check out: http://swaddlebees.com/products/aio/aio2. they also have absolutely beautiful organic cotton dipes, though they are super bucks.
our favorite fitted diapers for at home use are kissaluvs fitteds, which you can get at zannadu or at their own site: http://www.kissaluvs.com/fitted-diapers.html. my son was able to wear the small (size 0) until he was ~8 months old.

They're not exactly fuzzy buns, but we've been using ABC Diaper service in Berkeley for the last nine months and love it! It's cloth diapers and now we only pay $14/week. WE have a few different types of fuzzi bunz - like diapers, but they're not as easy to adjust on newborns. We've also noticed that cloth diapers leak less than disposable.

There are many sources on the internet, I used Green Mountain Diapers http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/ and was very happy with the descriptions and suggestions.
Craig's List is a great place to find CHEAP used diapers, which may sound unappealing, but they are often practically new or as clean as a diaper service would be! I personally sold the cloth diapers I tried out and did not like as well as others I tried. I still have a collection of Medium and Large Fuzzi Buns I will put up for sale someday soon (toddler size) and I'm sure they will go fast!

BUT I can also highly recommend TINY TOTS diaper service (800-794-5437) - they have won numerous awards for their eco friendly cloth diaper washing facility - they work with you, schedule holiday breaks etc. good luck and stick w the cloth diapers - they work superbly (my baby never had a single diaper rash :), also the babe knows when he /she is wet - great for potty training.
Try flushable liners (look like a dryer sheet, all natural unscented, 100 % cotton) and check out organic WOOL COVERS - they are fantastic, no plastic lining needed, natural wicking occurs - this way it is much easier to deal with soiled diapers - no need to wash the whole contraption every time.

We used Tiny Tots service with our two kids and was very happy with it. It is not organic but very affordable and good for the environment and no diaper rash and both of my kids were potty trained by two!

Hello, I know you posted your question a while ago but i did not see the suggestion of natual resources 1357 valencia at 2 25th ish.... anyway, definitely a great store for the natural mama....
we wash our diapers ourselves not that big of a deal... especially when you consider the money you save.

natural recouces has organic hemp pre-folds for $2 when you buy 12, so thats 12 for $24. I bought 48 prefolds which last me about 3-4 days (also because we practice e.c. elimination communication, so often I put the same diaper back on) then I bought 6 of the bum genious all in ones for night time with the organic hemp inserts they have there. we use two 'all in ones' a night and they work great! please feel free to email me with further quetions.

e.c. is great i highly reccomend looking it up and beginning as soon as your comfotable. we started at 7 weeks, my son is 4 and a half months now and i have not changed a poopy diaper in 2 months!!!
