We're looking to purchase a safe, sturdy double bike trailer to use on a fairly regular basis for transport of our two daughters around town and would appreciate any and all advice, complaints and suggestions.

Thanks for taking the time to respond!!

There is one at target right now by Instep for $99. I hope more moms give feedback on it because I was thinking of getting one.

Another Burley lover here - lots of space for tots and stuff. We actually asked for it as a gift early on from generous grandparents (so that was the only gift for an early holiday instead of a pile of unneeded other things). You can definitely look for one on Craigslist or Ebay or whatever, and unless the prior people beat it up, it will be in good working order.

I love our Burley. It doubles as a stroller and is super light weight. They can be expensive, but a friend of mine got hers very lightly used off of Craig's List from a family.

We have had a Burley bike trailer for 16 years. We bought it when our two oldest were 2 and 3 yrs old. They are now 18 and 19 yrs old. We used it for all 5 of our kids. We still use it if we need to bring 'stuff' on our bike rides. It was the best purchase we have ever made! My sisters have all said that when we are done with it that they want it as a hand me down. Not sure if we will ever get rid of it! Caution: Trailers can tip over (esp. if on rough trails or sharp turns). Make sure your precious cargo is buckled in and wears a helmet. (I don't know what type of trailer my sister has, but she recently dumped her daughter and she got scratched face and broken arm!)

I love my Croozer! It converts from bike trailer to stroller to jogging stroller. I have a single, but I am sure the doubles are equally good quality. More affordable than Burley. I found one on eBay pretty cheap (new!).

I second the Burley. We bought one 11 years ago and we are still passing it through the family as people need it. It is still in good shape and works well.

I have had my Burley for 13 years and it is great! It holds up to two kids, and is roomy enough in the back to hold a small cooler, diaper bag, backpack. safety...if your bike falls the attachment swivels and kids never move. There are bike wheels on the back, which makes for a smooth ride, and when you take it of of the bike there is a small wheel that flips down, also a handle could be attached for walking to the park. It is just wide enough to fit thru a door if needed. My uncle owned a schwin bike shop when we bought ours and he highly recomended this one over other brands (quality..and safety)and after using it....I agree! Have fun! best wishes!

if price is not an issue, we have a burley d'lite that is the BEST. it doubles as a stroller although we never used it as such and it just beats all others by far. it has room for drinks, pillows, safety, netting, everything. i researched forever. good luck, nancy

I bought the $100 double bike trailer at Target 9 years ago and sooooo glad I didn't spend the money on a Burley. The one I have is fine, use it ALL the time! Take it up and down the lake front. My boys are now 6 and 9. We had both boys riding in it until they were 5 and 7. Now my older son wants to ride his own bike. The 6 year old will be riding his own bike soon as well, but I can totally see keeping it to cart beach stuff to the lake front.

The amazing thing is it's not very hard to pull all that weight, as long as you're on flat land.

Get one and save some cash by getting yours at Target.

We purchased the Schwinn DOuble bike trailer and I have no complaints with it. I have heard Burley is the best, but we only use ours for trips to the park or riding around our neighborhood so I didn't think it was worth the money. There is enough room for our 2 kids and we've had no problems with it. It can also convert into a stroller. Like I said, I've always heard Burley is the best, but I am happy with our Schwinn.
