I'm looking to switch my son's pediatrician to somewhere close to the South Loop where we live. I was thinking the closest would be at Northwestern. Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Wow! I feel so connected! Thanks to everyone for your referrals. I had no idea how to pick before posting here. I've just made an appointment with Dr.Martin. I was just emailing one of the ladies that I only have 2 friends w/toddlers that I rarely see so I'm open for meeting new mommies in the area!

cheers!
N.

I love the Northwestern Childrens Practice located at 680 N. Lake Shore Drive (right behind Northwestern) We saw Dr. Daphne Hirsch. It is Dr. Weisbuth's practice....the author of the Healthy Sleeping Habits, Happy Baby Book.

Streeterville Pediatrics - Dr. Donald Brown. He was our pediatrician while we were still at Prentice (Northwestern) after my son was born. We wish we lived closer because he would have absolutely been our primary pediatrician. He's WONDERFUL!!

Hi N., I am a 37 year old single Mom of a 16 month old baby girl! We should meet :) Anyway, Dr Weissbluth is PHENOMENAL -- and any of the pediatricians in his office are good. The number is ###-###-####. He doesn't take insurance (I know, big problem) but you can submit it and they reimburse you -- or go to any of his colleagues in his office. You can call me if you want at ###-###-####. Good luck, M.

Hi N.,

I am an NMH employee and one of the best peds docs is Dr. Paul Martin. I have referred all of my friends and family to him and they love him. The office number is ###-###-#### and another great practice is Dr. Marc Weissbluth's practice. I am not sure what the number is but you can probably google it. He is located on the NMH campus as well. Hope this helps. B.

N.,

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Sharma at Northwestern Children's Practice. She was my son's pediatrician for almost his first full year, until we moved to the suburbs. I have yet to find a doctor for my son that is as warm, knowledgable, and understanding as she is. She never rushed us out of the office, she always gave my son the attention he deserves, and never made me feel incompetent (and being a first time mom, I probably was at some point!). I'm about ready to stop the search in the suburbs and make the drive back into the city to see her again.
Good luck!

We live in the South Loop too. We have taken our 14 month old son to Dr. Donald Brown at Streeterville Pediatrics since the day he was born and we have been extremely happy. It is located at 233 East Erie. There is parking within the building. Dr. Brown is on staff at Northwestern & Rush. There are two other Drs. within the practice that we have seen as well and have felt comfortable with both of them also.

Hi N.

I would defiantly recommend my pediatrician Dr Daphne Hirsch at The Northwestern Children’s Practice; everyone is very knowledgeable and hours are great. My daughter is very happy and all of my questions and concerns are addressed. I highly recommend Amy R. Becker Manion as your Nurse Practitioner (she has young children so she can relate). What I absolutely love is if your child is sick they have sick baby hours Monday – Friday at 8am (no appointment needed) and they have Saturday and Sunday hours, can’t ask for more. They are located in the 680 N Lakeshore Drive building, suite 123, ###-###-#### visit their website www.sweetbabies.com

I see Dr. Hirsch as well (Northwestern Children's Practice) - she is great! I lived in the South Loop until my daughter was 18 months. We now live in Bridgeport and I wouldn't even think of changing doctors.
