Seeking a Gently Used Girls' Bike for Christmas Gift?

The munchkin has (fortunately at the end of the summer) just out grown her bike. She's 7 going on 8 and the next size up for her is the 20" bike. I've seen them new from $60.00 and up, but if we could find a gently used one for less, it would give us more room in the holiday budget. My sister is in San Jose and they have a specific Yahoo group that is kind of like Craigslist but only for kids' toys, clothes, etc. Does anyone know about anything like that in our area? (I use Craigslist a lot, but I was looking for additional resources, too - Craigslist currently has a number of kids bikes listed but they're all at the higher end, so 90-150 used...)

What can I do next?

My twin girls outgrew their bikes this summer. We found two used 20" bikes on Craigslist for $40 each. I would send an E-mail to the seller to verify that the bike listed had the 20" wheels and would ask for a photo if one wasn't posted. My girls each chose one they wanted to go see and we ended up buying them, but would have looked further if necessary.

I've had wonderful luck using Craigslist...check in either sports, baby & kids or bikes:

You might try the website Zwaggle. A lot of denver area people use it, and it is a way to recycle kid clothes and toys for free. www.zwaggle.com

I would also check craigslist, and maybe ebay.

Good Luck!

Craigslist is all over the US, you can type in Craigs list and put in Denver, Colorado, and look for toys. Also if you would like I have a purple 20 inch Bratz Bike that my daughter has outgrown that looks pretty new. I actually listed it in Craigs list in Tampa, Fl, before I moved here, however, waited to late and didn't have the time to sell it. If you are interested send me a message, if not, I am sure you will find something good in the Craigs list in Colorado. Good Luck!
