School Supply Item

Well, when half the class comes next week without the 1 two-colored prepack box with handle, the teacher will know that this description just didn't cut it! I'd wait until after the first day of school and try to find out what the darn thing looks like and where you can get it!

I just had to laugh at this....

When we moved from Iowa to Texas, one of the items on the school list (elementary, at the time) was "Map Colors" ....

I looked all over the school supply section at Walmart, and couldn't find anything that said "Map colors" ........

After some fretting and fuming, I asked another customer, or an associate, and they said it was "colored pencils" ......

Good grief... why don't they put the name on the list that is on the thing you purchase?? Yeah, it made me feel real stupid, but sheesh...... they didn't call colored pencils that up in Iowa!

And... funny thing is, several years later, when I WORKED at Wal-mart, that was a very common question customers had.... "What the heck are 'map colors' ?"

I would actually call the school! How annoying is that...lol....I feel your pain, although this one is downright comical! In 2 weeks we will be having meet the teacher, and I am planning on asking the teacher about the iffy thing on our list.

"I'm sorry this made me laugh... some schools do a fundraiser where you can order supplies through the school instead of buying them yourself. All the supplies are packed in a box and you pick it up a week before school starts. The pre-pack box is simply the box it comes in! So either you are reading the fundraising supply list or your school was lazy and just copied and pasted the exact same list onto their own supply list."

For the record, here is the question, exactly as it was asked:

"I have this item 'Two Color Prepack box with handle' in my kids back-to-school supply list. And I have absolutely no idea what that means. Can anyone help me, possibly with a picture ?"

I saw this question last night and noticed it wasn't getting any responses, and I figured then that, like me, nobody had a clue what the heck a "two color prepack box with handle" was. Guess I was close to right.

So now I am going to have to click on Aria Mom's link just to see what it MIGHT look like, because I am dying to know! LOL

I think they throw stuff on the list to try to get you to buy the schools fundraising packet of school supplies.

If you notice, it is always the last thing on the school supply lists (like you, I couldn't stand not googling it...). I looked up the supply company - it is not a valid product name or item. I'll bet it's just the shipping box that the supplies come in, when you order them all at once through an educational supply company, or through the PTA (who orders them from an educational supply company). The list was just copied and pasted.

If its a pencil box, why would it need a handle? I would just call the school and ask them. Good luck!

I think when they make the list, they copy the exact names from some school supply company catalog - whether it makes sense or not.

Funny - if you google TWO COLOR PREPACK BOX WITH HANDLE you find about two pages of it - all on school supply lists!

I agree with the other posters that it's the box the supplies come in for the PTA to purchase to sell to the parents. If you google PTA order school supplies, this is what you come up with - http://www.schooltoolbox.com/store/. It's more than two colors, but has a handle.
