My husband and I used the Raid roach funigators but that didn't work either. I do have a newborn so I'm not sure what i can use now. PLEASE HELP!!!

I would definitely call in the professionals..something like Orkin or Terminex if you can. Roaches once they really get going are hard to get rid of. AND they are one of the leading causes of allergies and can cause problems with children who have asthma.

Gel bait are the best. Plus try to spray with someting called Demon. You mix it up yourself. Spray it all outside around baseboards under cabinets in kit sink and bthrm cabinets and all around the perimeter of your house, even on windows outside, soak the outside up to window tops. Keep the gel bait out regular. Whatever makes them not produce is what you want. Good luck We finally after 5months have none........

P., I live in a 50+ year old home. We had problems with roaches when we bought it 13 years ago when my kids were little. We used some gel that we bought at Wal-Mart. I know they still carry it but I'm not sure what the brand is. What's neat about the gel is you can put it in places that roaches go that you know that children won't be.... like cracks, behind pictures, in baseboards, exterior or the home, etc.

Hello,
I was also very concerned about pesticides around our infant, so we did a bomb in the garage only after we moved in. We had been seeing a few bugs every week though, so not sure if yours is worse. We saw lots in the garage. So we tried to empty the garage after bombing, putting borox around the edges, and inside, small trays of 1/2 sugar/ 1/2 baking soda as we heard it would not be as harmful to kids if he happened to eat a bit. We also got bug sound repellers that plug into outlets. We only see 1 a month now.

When we moved into our house (also 30 years old at the time) we also got bombarded by roaches. We tried everything to get rid of them and nothing worked.

It turned out that we had a pretty bad water leak and that was attracting the bugs. Once we got the leak repaired, in a matter of weeks, the roaches were gone. You might try getting that checked. Especially if the roaches are mainly in the kitchen - you may have a leak under the house around that area.

We have them come out and either bait or spray our house once a year. We got a call from a place tonight doing a $49.99 special. That is half of what we paid the last two years. :)

P., we live in a 30 year old house as well and were absolutely invaded when we moved in two years ago. It was really horrible, like something out of a Sci-Fi movie. First thing was I just finally had to break down and call a professional. We now have someone come out and spray quarterly for a little over 80 dollars each time with a full warranty in between visits. It's more than I wanted to pay, but I came to the conclusion that this just needed to be a priority, and the bugs can just be really bad in the South. They only sprayed the interior of the house the first time and dusted the inside of the plumbing, then they spray exterior only on other visits. If you have a newborn and the problem is the kitchen, you can just ask that they spray the kitchen and dust the plumbing in the kitchen for now. (We use All Pest Solutions, think they are in Wylie, they are a very child-pet friendly company). Ammonia is probably even way more toxic than the chemical they would use.

Secondly my husband and I got "Great Stuff" a spray foam sealant from Home Depot. When we got on our hands and knees we discovered an open seam under the cabinets that was not visible, where bugs were coming through. We sealed all of those, every open crack, and then under the sink all around the plumbing and tubing. Then I got some thick round foam tubing in the weatherstripping section of HD and stuffed that back in and all around our dishwasher, filling all of that open space where bugs could come through. It expands to feel the area. (Not visible from the outside) After this we were very vigilant about crumbs, dishes in the sink, etc. for about two months. Haven't had any problems since! Don't get overwhelmed, you can fix this and have your nice house back! Message me if you have any questions.

The gel is the only thing I found that actually worked! You put little dots in all the corners in your kitchen. In your cabinets behind microwave or other things in the kitchen. I moved into a apartment that was so infested. They didnt know what to do. Finally we used the Gel And they were gone within a couple of weeks.
