Hi!
When I had my son I saw a doctor near Playa Del Rey. It was the only one that was offered (close by) with my insurance at the time. I met him and like him but then spent the next 6 months of appointments never seeing him again--- only seeing his (rude) nurse! I later found out that I didn't pass my initial glycose test and they didn't even TELL me!
So, my husband and I decided to switch to PPO and choose who we went to. I called Dr. Jay Goldberg, who had been recommended to me by several women. He met with me and took me on at almost 7 months! He was SO nice and funny--- and although the office is VERY busy (it's in Beverly Hills), he was always so kind and ALWAYS at my appointments. I was shocked after my first doctor that someone would actually pay attention to me and my needs!
I had a bad delivery experience, but I feel that was due mostly to Cedars Sinai and my own lack of experience (not knowing when to put my foot down and stand up for myself) and not a result of Dr. Goldberg. Actually, he was great for me at my birth--- very supportive and encouraging and even funny during my delivery. He had all my family in the delivery room (my mom, my husband, my sister) in stitches (the laughing kind).
I'm not going to use him for my second birth because I live too far away now- plus I plan on having a home birth this time.
But as far as OBGYNs go--- he's really great. It is a busy office, though, like I said. I sometimes waited in the waiting room for an hour. So bring a book.... but the nurses are all very very nice and they have all the necessary equipment there--- you never have to go anywhere else for an ultrasound. Even the ultrasound technicians are extremely sweet and answer all your questions. I really can't say enough wonderful things about this office or Dr. Goldberg.
The only negatives are that you pay quite a bit to park (but again, it's in beverly hills on Wilshire so that's expected). And you have to wait a while in the waiting room.

Good Luck!

I second Dr Bliss. I just started seeing her and like her a lot. She is warm and funny, rarely late, and gives me her full attention.
