Ladies -
Don't know what to make of this. Make of this, might be nothing at all. DS, who is one, has had a touch of a cold for about a week. He's got congestion, and sneezes about 12x a day. Recently, he's developed a rash, if you can call it that on his face. It doesn't have any color to it, it doesn't seem to itch or bother him, its almost like really tiny goosebumps, or like a winter version of prickly heat.
Hubs and I are wondering if this isn't just a reaction to the cold weather we've been having.
Does this warrant going to the doctor?
Have you experienced this sort of thing?
Any ideas on what to use on it (we currently use no lotion whatsoever, huggies baby wipes, and california baby bath solution).

It might just be dry skin - Cetaphil cream in the tub!!! I would call the Doctor at least and see if they need/want to see him.
My DD has a similarly bumpy skin issue too. It doesn't bother her, I can just feel it on her upper arms. Dr. said it is no issue but if I wanted, he would prescribe a steroidal cream to help it go away...of course I opted out of the that because if it is not an issue, why put that onto my child ya know? We have tried different lotions/soaps all natural/Eczema specific and nothing makes it go away. So we just leave it and she isn't bothered by it. I notice it is worse (and it is never really bad!) during change of seasons. we too are dealing with sudden cold and I think that has brought it on again.
1- My son has this, almost like goosebumps but flesh color, it's on his cheeks, upper arms, and a little on his legs. I've chalked it up to the weather changing, BUT, if your kiddo gets a fever, I'd definitely have it looked at.
2- My middle child had, when she was little, a rash behind her ears, around her mouth, and around her eyes. HERS was caused by food allergies. Doesn't sound like the same thing though, just something to keep in mind.

Edit: I dont know if you'll see this & i'm sorry that it took me a couple days to have time to come back. My daughters doctor said she had a "contact rash" which could be anything from the wind, to reaction from a snotty nose (her allergies are constant), to her putting EVERYTHING up to her face/mouth. He said when it gets bad to try cortisone cream, otherwise just a good lotion. He recommended CeraVe. Good luck :)
We're dealing with this too right now on my daughters face. Her's gets pink though.. I have her 15 month check tomorrow, I can't wait to hear what her doc says.. if it's anything i'll come let you know!

To me a rash is something worth at least calling the nurse at your pediatricians office about. It may be viral or something else. Any fever? Do some googling on rashes and she what you find.
