So What Happened?

hey everyone thank you for your time in responding! The appetite loss is not due to the teething tablets. He seems a little more like himself today..has been downing every bottle ive given him since he has woken up today! Ive been doing just 4oz bottle and he has about 4.4 of those so far with probably another 2-3 coming b4 bed...depending on how tired he gets we'll see what time bedtime is tonight....last night it was REAL late almost 1130pm due to being a sister in laws house for a birthday party!

When my daughter was teething she had a decreased appetite when they were about to pop threw the skin. It's a lenghty process with teething. She was teething atleast 2mos. before a tooth popped threw the skin. The worst of the teething for us was when the teeth were working their way up the gums it was a piece of cake when they actually broke threw the skin. My daughter just got her first teeth at 8mos. So I'd say around 6mos. was when she was the most uncomfortable and had a decreased appetite, drooling and chewing on everything in sight.

Yes it could be teething. It could be a growth spurt since he is sleeping more, but usually growth spurts cause increased appetite [at least that is what happens with my son]. It could be some kind of infection. Could be the nipple size is too small. As long as he is having plenty of wet diapers I wouldn't worry about it too much

Did the loss of appetite correspond with the teething tablets?

Absolutely. This has always been the FIRST sign of teething for my little boy who is now two. Even when he was getting his two year molars, his appetite decreased. He also barely ever eats when he's sick or coming down with something. This is totally normal, and when he's feeling more like himself he'll come around.
