I'm wondering if anyone has any "quick" exercise routines/ideas for someone that has just a little of time each day(and that can be done from home). I've done the weight-loss part and now I REALLY need to tone it all. THANKS!

Resistance Band-- cheap and easy exercises that can help you firm up quickly. You can even do them in bed if you want. Also I always try to do a few crunches here and there throughout the day. Also while cooking and brushing teeth--do some squats or do walking lunges to get something across the kitchen.

If you have On Demand with Comcast, under sports and fitness they have short exercise videos for free. I've tried them and enjoy them. There is such a variety, so you don't have to be bored with the same routines. They have all types of exercise, too. There's yoga, pilates, cardio, dance, muscle toning, etc.

Hi there. I agree with Jackie...the exercise ball is excellent. I take a Pilates class at a health club and the instructor often uses the exercise ball and you can do so many different toning exercises with it...legs, core, arms. It is my favorite and you will definitely notice how you will be feeling "toned" all over after using it for a period of time. Good Luck!

I do squats or lunges while i brush my teeth. and you don't even need the jump rope, just jump like you have one...its still a good quick exercise.

Good Morning,
Sometimes it can be tough setting aside time to pop in a DVD or to work out with no iteruptions.
I keep hand weights and resistance bands in the rooms of the house that I visit frequently. Example: the laundry room! When I go to change the loads I will do 3 sets each of bicep curls and tricep presses before leaving the room. In the computer room I will do a back and chest exercise. In the kitchen I try to do push ups off the counter or keep a set of hand wieghts in a drawer. While waiting for things to cook I grab the wts and do step ups on the little stool and the kitchen sink. Before leaving the bathroom why not do a few lunges. Playing on the floor with the kids how about some sit ups. You could also get ankle and wrist weights and wear them as you do house work.

It takes some getting used to but once you get your mind trained you can get pretty creative! Also a trampoline is a great way to work out and spend time with the kids. Jumproping and bike riding too.

Fitness magazine usually has a 10 minutes workout each month, most of which can be done with little to no equuipment and at home. I remember one being a 10 minute stair climbing routine alternating pace.

Also, there is a brand of workout dvds called QF:Quick Fix and they are all 10 minute workouts designed for particular results. I have the balance ball one and I really like it. Three ten minute workouts:upper, lower and core workouts.

Other than that, I just got a jump rope and it takes alot more effort than it did when I was 7. Lol. Good luck. =0)

Hi!

I love the 10 minute solution videos. There are about a dozen of them and they are all great! Each video has 5 ten minute workouts. You can do one workout at a time or you can string them together for a longer workout.

If you have any questions about them. Let me know. I own most of them.

I went out and bought an exercise ball. There are sooo many exercises you can do with it. You can pretty much just pick an area you want to target & find exercises to do with the ball. I workout using the ball every day for about 15 minutes & it is showing. I mainly target my stomach & thighs, but I can see the difference, with only 15 minutes a day.
Good luck!

If you have Comcast go to exercise tv On Demand. They have a lot of free, short workouts to watch right on your tv anytime you want.
