I am a Military Wife as some of you know and I am planning on making som eyummy goodies for my husbands care package. He is a health freak and doesn't want a bunch of junk food. I am planning on making him some granola bars for him. I was just curious if any of you mothers out there have some quick easy HEALTHY recipes for snacks taht I can send to him. I can't have any dairy products in them right now because of the excessive heat they have over there it wont make it through the mail. Once winter comes around I can start sending that kind of stuff.

Does anyone have any good recipes they want to share that are HEALTHY quick and easy that I can send over seas?

Thanks ahead of time for any responses

There are a lot of differant snack mixes you can make with dry cereals, pretzels, nuts, berries. I worked for a Hindu women that had a whole cabinet full of differant varieties. She would use puffed rice, puffed whaet, any cereals that were not sweetened. She would throw together a bunch of crunchy stuff and spray with a shot of butter flavored pam, then toss in a spice mixture. Sometimes a curry type deal. Sometimes chili powder and garlic, some were sweet, cinnamon and sugar. Once she had it all coated she would lay it out flat on a cookie sheet and bake on low until everything was slightly toasted. These would hold up well for your purpose.

I would suggest going to allrecipes.com. I have found all kinds of good recipes there. If you have something you want to use such as oatmeal, just plug that into their ingredient box, hit enter and lots of recipes come up using oatmeal.

Please thank your husband for being a soldier for all of us.
