Hello everyone, I will be moving to the Charlotte area at the end of June from Florida. I have been in mamasource for about a year now and really love all the good advise, ideas, suggestions and feedback this group provides parents. I would love to know if any one has any information regarding Chesterbrook academy located in southpoint near arrowood rd and I485. I looked around Charlotte for preschools and it seems like the good ones are already full to capacity. We have our name in the waiting list for Kids R Kids in Ballantyne and Omni Montessori, however need a good preschool in the mean while. I will also appreciate any recommendations on a pediatrician, primary care physician, OBGYN, dentist and allergist. Also, nice parks and museums, to take my little angel to run and play. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

What can I do next?

I don't know about that particular Chesterbrook - but our aupair left in Nov 2007 unexpectedly (she only stayed 3 months) and she was going to be our last one (after 4 yrs of aupairs)-- my son was already in a private Jewish preschool, but my 2 year old could not get into the school until this coming fall-- so I did a lot of research and put my daughter in the Chesterbrook at Beverly Crest (near the Arboretum) and we are very happy with her care there. She will be transitioning to the Jewish school in August to be with her brother-- but my hubby and I both like the Chesterbrook at Beverly Crest.

We live in Mint Hill-- so our pediatrician is in Matthews and Clt--Charlotte Pediatrics. We love Dr. Baker. I see my OB all the way out in Ballentyne-- he delivered my 2nd child and I schlep over there every year for my PAP because I think he is an excellent GYN-- Dr. Phillip Solomon with Carmel OB/GYN-- he used to be in Pineville and I used to travel out there but now they are off Audrey Kell.

Best of luck!

Mel

I don't know anything about Chesterbrook, but I can suggest other things, as I live in Ballantyne. My pediatrician is charlotte Pediatrics and I love them! They have many different locations and you basically can get in to see the doctor 7 days a week. My gyn is Eastover OB/GYN and I can't say enough good things about them as well. They have a ton of doctors and many female doctors if you prefer that. My doctor is Bruce Taylor (who I love) but I also love Astrid Jaine (who is a woman). My entire family goes to Ruocco Denistry which is more convenient than having a separate pediatric dentist, plus Susan the hygenist is awesome with the kids. My boys go to William Ashe with Asthma and Allergy specialists. He is, I think, the BEST pediatric pulminary doctor there is. I know lots of adults that go there for shots as well. Hope this has helped. I'm the mother of a 4, 7 and 10 year old and have lived in the Charlotte area for 12 years.

Carmel OBGYN - they are all great. Philip Solomon from a previous post delievered my little girl, but my OB was Sharoll Barnes. Once again, I saw all the people in the practice and liked them all. Ardrey Kell and Rea

Ballantyne Pediatrics has some really rude staff, but we absolutely adore our pediatrician Dr. Mahonty. John J. Delany

Charlotte At Play is a really fun, inexpensive, small, FUN, children's museum. It is off Johnston Rd, near hwy 51.

I am the owner of a new preschool in the Ballantyne/Blakeney area. We offer an advanced curriculum, degreed teachers, music, languages, technology, and serve only organic fruits and vegetables. Please check out the programs in the area like Kids R Kids, Cranfield, and Chesterbrook and I also hope you give us a look, www.ballancrestacademy.com Also, since we just opened we still have space for this year and are beginning our enrollment list for next year. We use Matthews Children's Clinic for our daughter, Dr. Parish is fabulous. In terms of an OBGYN, Dr. Fishburne is wonderful and we are currently shopping for a new dentist, so I am sorry I am unable to help there. I hope you love Charlotte as much as we do!
