Hello everyone!
Last night I sat my 23month old in the tub like usual and started running some bath water. I was getting a towel from the linen closet when I heard a "scared" SHRIEK and screaming, I turn around and look in the tub to see what is frightening her, and there was little "tootsie rolls" floating in the water! She was so scared of the poopie and she was trying to climb on me and screaming, I took her out and hugged her and her little heart was thumping so hard from how frightened she was of her poopie. I told her it was OK and sat her on her little potty and told her that we need to poop in the potty and she sat there as I cleaned the bathtub and was staring with curiosity as I scooped out the "presents and flushed them down the potty, as I flushed I told her to say "bye-bye" to poopie and once again told her it was OK and not to be so scared. BUT now she is SOOOOO scared to get into the tub again! I tried to show her ahead of time that there is NOTHING in the tub but she would just scream this horrifying "scared" kind of cry! I don't know what to do to get her to love the bathtime like she used to! It's kind of cute, but I'm worried that it was rather traumatic for her.
I had a similar thing happen with my daughter when she was that age. I asked her if she wanted to get in the shower instead, and she did a few times. Then I bought her a new and different set of bath toys, and she changed back to taking a bath. You could also try a large sink if you have one!
Do you have another tub you could try to give her a bath in?? Maybe its just that one and shell be ok in another one?? Check it out, let me know if that works, if not I try to think of more:)
I would try showering w/her. I do this w/my son to save time and water! He rarely get a "bath" unless I want to clean the bathroom or my room which is connected. I give him a washcloth w/soap and let him do it while I shower and then I finish it for him. Maybe get the book titled something like "everyone poops" I think...

Try taking a bath with her. She will see you are not scared and it will give her more Mommy time.
Hi both the shower idea and getting in the tub with her worked for us. In time she'll forget. Also, I don't recommend you letting her take a shower all the time - it gets pretty difficult ;-)
this story made me laaugh! :) i'd say, maybe bathe with her a few times to show her it's okay...
