Hello moms,

Just a question to see if anyone has had any experience with Pods or Packrat or any other storage company. We are moving at the end of this month and I need storage space. I was looking online at Pods and pPackrat since they deliver the storage container and you put all your stuff and they haul it away to their facility. Sounds simple enough but I am wondering what you have used or any advice you can give us. Thanks!

We used Packrat a couple years ago when we moved because we were going to be "homeless" for about 10 days between the closing of our old house and new house. We had a good experience with them. They delivered our container on time and when we realized we were going to need another (you always need more space than you think) they picked up the fuil one and dropped off the empty one, also on time. When we were done packing that one they took it away on schedule. We scheduled the drop off a couple days before we needed them and again had no problems. They were quite a bit cheaper than PODS at that time and I would recommend them based on our experience.

Our homebuilder had to make repairs on our home and they hired Packrat. The employees were nice and they boxed all our items and packaged them well. They were 2 days late in picking up the container and once it was removed I noticed a large rust spot with scratches to our driveway.

I know its not much advice!

I had 2 PODS delivered when I had to shortsale my home from my divorce and they gave me SIX days to move out. I had no problem with them, but it was pretty expensive to store them. I would just see if there is a big difference in price and take it from there. Good luck!
