Hi, I would appreciate any advice/personal experiences that you all have, I started spotting this morning. (I made 7 months yesterday) I went to the ER and they thing that it may be that I have a minor separation of the placenta! It scares the hell out of me that it could get worse.....has anyone else had this happen?? Please give me your opinion, or story....thanks soooo much!!!

So What Happened?

Thanks for the advice! Well, my Dr. said that everything is ok. That the problem fixed itself! Thank God!!! I feel better knowing that everything is ok! Still no spotting, and I'm taking it much easier than I would normally. Thanks again for all your help!!!

I've never experience spotting at 7 months, but did at 2 months. There is much difference being 7 months vs. 2 months. I'm sure they did an ultrasound, and if not I'd request one. They could better tell you what's going on. I had a friend who went through this, and she had to end up going on complete bedrest. My advice to you is to take it very easy. Don't lift, pull, or over exert yourself. Hang on tight, you're just about 2 months away, and I truly believe you and your baby will make it just fine. Make sure you are aware of your do's and don't(s) from your OB/GYN. Follow his orders step by step. Just remember, you are in my thoughts and prayers and I have a gut feeling you will have a beautiful and healthy baby.

Kris,
This hasn't happen to me but it happen to a close friend of mine. She was on bed rest for the rest of her pregnancy and she was about 6 months along. I stayed at her house and kept her other two children (I didn't have a child at that time) and if she came down for a drink of water, I ordered her back into bed. Take things easy, don't lift anything, don't strain, don't do anything. If you have other kids, have someone come over and take care of them. Even if you did have your baby now, I think she/he would be ok, just a low birth weight. I know that's not comforting but if you are active in any way, cut all of it out! Rest rest rest...I've also heard of the blood being different colors...check with your doctor (of course) on what each color means, bright red, brownish etc.

Is it bright red blood or brown blood?? I know that is a gross question but here is the reason why. I spotted almost all through both of my preg's. They always told me if it is brown blood it is "old" blood and not as concerning. Bright red blood is "new" blood. I am so sorry this has happened to you - I know it is hard. I had bed rest and limitations with both of my pg's. I will be praying for you. Oh, I delivered both healthy fine babies at 37 adn 39 weeks.

When I was almost due, I started spotting. When I called in they told me to rest and get off my feet. I did, but the spotting continued. They told me to come in and get checked out. As soon as I went in they set me up for a C-section. The placenta was seperating from the baby, and the baby was taking in blood. Had I waited too long the baby could have drowned in blood and died.
I am glad that you went and got things checked out. That should ease your mind and if you are seeing a doctor soon, that will confirm that things are OK. The thing with spotting is that it can be normal or it can be serious. Just make sure you stay on top of it and that it doesn't get worse.
best wishes for a happy healthy baby.
