I am looking for a playgroup for my 3 year old son in Boise. How do I find one that is already established?

What can I do next?

I know it is almost a year after you posted this, but there is a Mommy and Me group that you can get connected with through www.meetup.com. It is a wonderful group of women that also get together for Stroller Strides fitness classes. You don't have to be involved with the fitness classes to get involved with the weekly outings to parks and different activities! Check it out!

I have a 2yr old son and he loves to play with kids. I started a playgroup with my neighbors but it's kind of dwindled to 2 boys now and we don't get to meet regularly so i'm looking for someone that would like to get together more than once a week. But if you are just looking to join a playgroup we can surely do that. We usually meet in the mid mornings on monday tuesday or wedneday depending on our schedules.

Have you thought about putting him in preschool? Preschool is a very good thing for them. They build friendships, confidence and life skills. Look around for one in your area, some can be pretty expensive but there are also some that are pretty fair priced.

Good luck.

Hi T.,
You can go to storytimes at libraries, and to playgrounds and anywhere where children congregate that are your son's age. Look around and ask other parents if their kids are in a playgroup. If so, say you're looking for one for your son. If not, they may be interested too.
I got into my playgroup by being in the special beginnings class at St. Luke's when my first was a baby. We're still meeting, and there is a range of 5 year olds to newborns! Some have moved away or dropped out, and a couple have come into our group. One gal joined our group by approaching me at the library. One gal joined our group because I knew her from church. One gal joined because her sister was in it.
You're welcome to check out our group. We meet every 2 weeks all year and different people are in charge each time. (In charge just means someone decides where it will be <a park, their home...>, and brings snacks.)
