I am always looking for a good pillow. I don't ever seem to be rested when I wake up and always have a stiff neck and shoulders. Can anyone recommend a good pillow? I have tried the memory foam and a lot of others. Has anyone tried the mypillow?

Thanks

It may not be your pillow. You may be clenching or grinding your teeth in your sleep. I wear a mouth guard to protect my teeth and my neck and shoulders do not hurt as much as they used to.

Check with your dentist before you go on another pillow hunt.

Oh and the mouth guard I wear is one from a sporting good shop --- not from the dentist. Mine cost $2 ---- their's over $400. Try the $2 one first.

We have Tempurpedic pillows. It kills if I lie on it wrong, but lying on it right puts me in heaven.

No regular pillows work for me long term until I finally discovered something that caught me by surprise. I use my reading pillow. It is the type with a back and side arms. Now I can sleep with much more neck and shoulder support in any position not to mention I'm finding I am not waking in nearly as much pain as is typical for me.

I bought a MyPillow about 6 months ago; so far it's great! If you buy one, be sure to read the care instructions, which specify that once a month, you need to wash and dry it (in the dryer on high heat). That helps to refresh the foam to its full "loft." I have done that, and I have been extremely happy with it! I also bought them for my kids, and my older daughter (who had been having neck pain) feels great now as well. I know it's a fairly expensive pillow, but I have no complaints, and with a 10 year warranty, you can hardly go wrong. :)

PS: As others mentioned, it can be a teeth grinding issue - my dentist did a "bite adjustment" and it helped, but that didn't solve my problem. The pillow is what finally did it - but it's worth checking with the dentist too.

Are you a front sleeper, side sleeper or back sleeper (primarily)? It will make a huge difference on the best pillow for you.

Ditto Reverend Ruby.
That happened with 2 people I know.

I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BI5HGS/ref=wms_ohs_p...

I bought it in 2008 and it's still exactly like it was when I bought it. I'm a side sleeper too and I ADORE my pillow. My hubby is always trying to steal it from me. :-)

I have an amazing pillow that was given to me by a friend. I will have to look at the tag when I get home to see what it is. A google search didn't help because I don't remember the brand so I will let you know in the A.M.
