Picnic Ideas for Kids B Day Party

So I need ideas. I am having my sons 9th Birthday in a week and half. We are trying to go cheaper this year, no big parties, just something simple. I am letting him invite 1 friend to party and sleep over. The weather "says" its to be nice and sunny so was thinking of going to local park that kids love and do it there. That way kids can run and play, and my place not crowded since its fairly small. I will be inviting family and cousins as well. There is no bbq at this particular park, but is kids favorite park. It has trails you can hike on into foothills, and huge park. So with no bbq, and not wanting to cart ours over, I need ideas on easy picnic food ideas that kids and adults will like. So anyone have any ideas? Recipes? Would love any ideas. Thanks in advance!!
Edit: I know you cant rely on the weather being right in a week, but if it is somehow correct it will be sunny and 61 on that Saturday, if not and it turns out its not as warm as it says I can do it at my house no problem, but figure if its nice out why not be outside and enjoy the sun

What can I do next?

It's going to be that warm in Boise in a week? I am thinking hot chocolate, big pot of hot chili and maybe some fried chicken. Anything hot because I am really thinking it is not quite picnic season yet. Don't forget the coffee too. Cannot invite people and expect them to sit in the cold. Would have to be 65 degrees minimum for me to go.

When we had a end of season picnic w/ my son's baseball team, we cooked hotdogs ahead of time and put them inside a small cooler lined w/ foil. Once ready to eat, we placed them on rolls as needed (so the rolls didn't get soggy). You could do that, have a crock of baked beans, and a bag of chips.

Sandwiches or fried chicken, pasta salad, fruit salad and chips.
You can also use a small cooler as a "warmer" so if you want to bring anything hot just wrap it up in foil and it will stay warm for a few hours (hot dogs are great this way!)

Make your own subs. Put out an assortment of deli meat, cheese, veggies and condiments, and let everyone make their own sandwiches. Its fun for the kids, and everyone gets what they like. Put out some chips, a veggie tray and a fruit platter.

When we did our daughter's picnic birthday, my husband insisted on pizza, I order sandwiches from Vons/Safeway and then brought chili in a crock with hotdogs and grated cheese.

Everything was a hit!
