So we left for a trip and were unaware that our 3 yr old missed the toilet and got pee all over next to it. The linoleum floor seems to be retaining the not so pleasant smell. :( Sadly it seeped under the toilet also. We have tried baking soda and viniger and are curretnly on a second round of baking soda and the smell has decreased but is not gone. Any helpful ideas would be apreciated.
Sounds like it needs a good old-fashioned hands-and-knees scrubbing with Lysol or Pinesol and bucket of hot, soapy water. Then put a fan in there and let it dry completely. You might need to repeat.
Also, could there be pee somewhere you're not seeing....around the seat, behind the toilet?

couple of things you can try,
" Kids and Pets" found at target or Walmart in the cleaning section, prob by the woolite rug cleaners.
And you can try Pinesol .
Don't ya just love boys? ;) Try an enzyme based cleaner like you would use to get rid of pet urine odors. I like Nature's Miracle, you can get it at pet supply stores.
I hear "Natures Miracle" is the best product for such things.
Look for an Enzyme cleaner- you may have to go to a pet store or the pet section of your local Target, etc. We use "Nature's Miracle" and it works wonders on urine smells and stains. you may have to let it sit and soak in just as the urine did but it should take care of it.
I would spray the area with a bleach based spray.
Urine Off Xcat Formula. It's similar to Nature's Miracle but a little more potent to help with cat smells
Try using some Nature's Miracle - pour that on the floor where the urine would have gone and allow it to seep in as well. It may take a few weeks but it really does a great job of removing urine odors.
I use amonia in a spray bottle and clean the bottom of the toilet bowl with one of those medium size scurb brushes. Not the short wide brush, but the long narrow brush that looks like it's for a dust pan. My son is 4 and sometimes misses to pee in the bowl.
The enzyme products sold at pet stores (I think one is called Nature's Miracle) are reported to work very well for urine smells.
Peroxide is helpful, just dump it on and let it seep into the cracks around the toilet. It will evaporate from the places you can't soak it up from. Ventillation is also your friend. If you put dry baking soda down and leave it overnight, it can be swept up and get another layer of smell out of there. Good luck!
Murphy's Oil Soap & hot water. Let some sit for awhile before rinsing and drying.
We use Sol-U-Mel. It works for stain and odors.

It is 100% plant and mineral-based ingrediants. Biodegradable and complies with EPA standards. It works for everything, replaces many other "cleaners".
I've heard that mixing hydrogen peroxide and water works for stains/smells. SUPPOSED to be even better (and safer) than bleach. I don't really know as I have not tried it yet, but it's something I heard recently that might be worth a try. You use 3% peroxide. Most things it says use 50/50 mixture but for urine on the bathroom floor it says put in a spray bottle and spray on floor and smell will vanish.
