We're looking for a doctor, Pediatrician, Family Practice, General Practitioner, whomever, who will give vaccinations, non-mercury one at a time. For example, a DPT, one at a time. Our chiropractor told us Family Practice Dr tend to be more liberal. Preferably in St. Paul area - willing to travel for someone good. FYI: She also said summer is a good time to give vaccinations, there is a homoeopathic kit that you can give child to prep and strengthen the body. She often treats child as if sick the week before. We have learned from others who have responded to vaccination questions. Thank you for help.

Hello, I don't have a recommendation for a doc in that area, but a suggestion on how to do what you're asking. Dr.'s offices can get the vacinations in single/seperate doses. The only issue is insurance won't cover the cost of administering them that way so it will likely come out of your pocket. We had our daughters MMR administered seperately, we just had to request that from our doc-and he was totally fine with it.

Good luck,
A.

Hi J..

The place we take our child uses all Thimerosol-free vaccines.

My doctor has always been open to discussing which vaccines I may not want for my child and why. Though I've never refused/delayed a vaccine, my impression is that she would be open to allowing me to do so. Her name is Sarah Brandt and she practices at Southdale Pediatrics. She's not in St. Paul, but I thought I'd pass her name on if you don't have any luck.

Hi J.-

From what I understand from my doctor, no vaccines (except for some flu vaccines) administered to children contain mercury anymore.

We go to Pediatric and Young Adult Medicine and are planning on separate doses of MMR vaccine, and our doctor is just fine with that.

Good luck!
-Angie

I'm not sure about the vaccination part but, you could call and ask. They are very good. There are several pediatricians at the clinic. They also have several locations. Dr. Plotnik she is my favorite.

Pediatric and Young Adult Medicine gives non mercury shots. The flu shot is the only one with mercury now and we were told you can request the non-mercury one. Here is there website: http://www.pyam.com/ We really like them. We asked about this and were told that most companies dont make shots with mercury in them anymore. Im not sure if they will do one at a time but you could call and ask. Let me know if you have any other questions. B.

Our doctor is totally open to doing the shots one by one or at a rate that feels comfortable to you. I can not remember what we talked about witht he mercury but I am sure that she woudl discuss it with you. She is very knowledgable and has two kids herself. We have six kids and are pretty unconventional with our ideas about medicine. I think that you would like her. Her name is Lisa Spatz and She is at the Fairview Hiawatha Clinic. It is in Minneapolis but is just accross the river from Highland so it would not be too far. If you are using public transportation, the bus stops right in front. There is also an awesome kid friendly coffee shop across the street and a cheap movie theater which can make it a nice location for follow up activities.
