Hi, I am a 34 y.o single mom, a labor and delivery nurse, to a beautiful 4 year old girl. Problem, I have no connections or experience with good dentists in the southbay area. If anyone has any recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!
A.

I take my 22 month old to Magicland Dental on Sepulveda in Torrance. Michael (Dentist) and Rico (hygenist) are great with the kids. This was my daughter's second visit and I was thrilled with the care. The location has recently moved to Sepulveda. There is a movie theatre that plays videos while you wait...yes an actual movie theatre in the waiting area along with a room with video games etc. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

If you are willing to drive to Long Beach Dr. Santos Cortez is amazing. The staff is out of this world and he is "magical" when it comes to children's dentistry. Also, he is on staff at Long Beach Memorial for dental emergencies that require surgery, etc., which is always a nice thing, and something I didn't know to look for when I was seeking out a dentist.

Hi A. -
All 3 of my kids have a great pediatric dentist and many of my friends use him, as well. Dr. Frank Enriquez is located at 23727 Hawthorne Boulevard (just south of Lomita Blvd.)in Torrance. His phone number is ###-###-####. He has another great dentist working with him also, Dr. Nick. Good luck!

Our pediatrician recommended Drs. Frank Enriquez and Nick Brajevich who are located at 23727 Hawthorne Blvd. between Skypark and Pacific Coast Highway in Torrance. My sister is a dental hygenist and had Dr. Enriquez as a professor at USC. She said he's great too. Both dentists are super with the kids and their staff is so wonderful.

My younger son was terrified at his first visit (at 2 1/2 years at an appointment with his big brother) so they coaxed him into just opening his mouth so they could "tickle" and count his teeth. It took a few tries but they don't force the kids and are so kind and gentle. Now at 6 years old he walks right in, lets them coat his teeth with a plaque detecting stain, brushes it off, and gets ready for cleaning... just like big brother (who needs braces now, UGH!).

They accept most dental plans. Phone number is ###-###-####. Office sign says Pediatric Dentistry.

For first visits, patients view a DVD on what their experience will be like. Parents are allowed to sit with their children (great for first-timers) in the cleaning area but not in the areas to treat cavities or for x-rays. Some parents don't like that but that's the office policy.

We never have to wait long and the kids get to pick a goodie from the treasure chest at the end of their visit! The waiting area has a small play area for younger children and during cleaning there are small toys the patients can play with to distract them.

Hope this helps!

:-) K.

We use Dr. Patricia Turley. She and her husband have a practice together in the Southbay area. She is a pediatric dentist and her husband Dr. Patrick Turley is an orthodontist. The office is great, very helpful and professional. She is fantastic with the kids. Not only do my children listen to her about the importance of caring for their teeth, she offer great advice to parents in helping with this process. I strongly recommend her.

Dr. Santos Cortez is the best. I have been in Peds for 25 years and he is so giving. He works with lots of kids with huge problems thru Long Beach Memorial and then also has his private practice. It's not in your area, but he should definately be on your list. His staff is great with the kids and so is he. Beautiful office, kid friendly.

I don't live in the southbay area but if you are willing to travel to Long Beach, Dr. Stella is a great pediatric dentist. My child has an autistic disorder and was petrified of dentists due to visits with other dentists. We found Dr. Stella and he and his staff worked slowly and patiently with my son to help him overcome his fears and now my son looks forward to his visits.
