Does anyone know of a good pediatic allergist in Chicago? I'd like to take my almost 5 year old who has been having troubles with all year nasal allergies for over a year. I tried to research some on the internet, but it's hard to know who to try. So, if anyone's had any good or bad experiences with a Dr. I'd like to hear about it. Thanks so much.

Our allergist is far away--Crystal Lake. However, have you read any books written by Doris Rapp, MD? One is called "Is This Your Child?" It is considered by many to be the allergy bible. It is loaded with good information. Perhaps you can even find a doctor through some info. in this book.
Good luck.

I would definatley go to Dr. J. Kim. She was rec. by someone on Mamasource to me. You can call 1800kidsdoc to make the appt. She is in Glenview on Weds. but otherwise downtown at Childrens. I was going to another doc but was not happy. Childrens really impressed me. The are in the job for caring for kids!

We go to Dr. Kelly Newhall as well. We just love her and she has helped our daughter control her asthma and allergies for over a year now.

My pediatrician recommended Dr. Kelly Newhall. She was wonderful with my kids and was very thorough explaining everything and very thorough in getting her health history. I don't have her phone number handy, but she is located on the corner of Lincoln Ave. and Webster right next to Bacino's pizza place. She also was much easier to get into then Children's.

Good luck!

We took my son to see Dr. Chamlin - she works out of Children's Memorial here in Chicago. Everyone in that practice is awesome. They are experts in the field. The only problem is that it's extremely difficult to get in. We got an appointment because my son had a strange rash and his pediatrician called and got us an appointment at a satellite office in Tinley Park. There are also some good pediatric allergists out of University of Chicago Hospital - I don't have the names, but they were our other option.
