My husband and I are expecting and have heard wonderful things about Town & Country Pediatrics, located on Clybourn. It is such a large practice, does anyone have a specific doctor there that you would recommend?

I have a 6 week old son, and we've seen several doctors at this practice - so far all have been great. We've seen Drs. Holmes, Papacek, Hong, and Blade. I'd say that Dr. Hong was my favorite though - she took the time to explain everything and made sure all of our questions were answered. She even called us personally with some test results and to make sure we didn't have any more questions/concerns. (The nurse had already called with the results!)

Dr. Jenny Hong is our pediatrician at Town & Country and she is very sweet and thorough. Dr. Ellen Papceck (sp?) is also great, she was our initial pediatrician, but hard to get an appointment with.

We take my 3 month old to Dr. Dori Kazdin. We love her. My daughter has torticollis, and Dr. Kadzin didn't hesitate to start her in physical therapy right away. She's not one to overtreat, she's great with early intervention and prevention. And she's even there on Sundays!

Although I do not take my children to Town & Country and don't have any first hand advice, I haven't heard very good things about this office. In my playgroup of 13 families, 4 had once been patients at T & C but left because they were not satisfied. One family has remained with them but it's only because they are moving within the next few months and don't want to switch for such a short period of time. I am a member of the Northside Parenting Network. The website address is: http://www.northsideparents.org

You might be interested in joining this ~ you get access to advice/recommendations from thousands of northside parents on every topic imaginable! I've seen many discussion strings regarding the best pediatric practices around. T & C doesn't rate very highly in terms of office staff, appointment availability, or it's waiting area.

But, as I said, this isn't first hand experience and it doesn't have to be a permanent decision if you later decide to switch to a different practice. I take my children to Childrens Healthcare Associates on Sheffield/Belmont and highly recommend them. They are affiliated with Children's Memorial Hospital and that was the biggest request of mine.

Good luck!!

I really like Dr. Jenny Hong, but when ever your child is sick you see whom ever is available and I've always liked everybody. But I'm always glad to see Dr. Hong for their scheduled visits.
Hope that helps.

I don't know if the same doctors are at the lincoln location, but on the chance that they are... I go to Dr. Shepard (female), and I also really like Dr. Rice (male)
Good luck.
