My friend has been diagnosed with PCOS, and a minor blood clotting factor. She just moved back to Texas from New Jersey and has not started seeing a doctor for these problems. She has just had a positive pregnancy test (which is a miracle), and needs to be evaluated by a doctor immediatly for there to be any hope for this pregnancy. If any of you gals have had similar problems and have been treated by a doctor in the dallas area, I would be interested in your referals.

Dr. Bertrand is a really good doctor. So, is Dr. Thurman. They are both together across the street from Presbyterian Hospital on Walnut Hill in Dallas. I went through artificial insemination with Dr. Bertrand and he delivered my little boy. I would only trust him.
I have pcos and have delivered 3 healthy babies. Most dr.s in this area are familiar with this syndrome. Just be sure she gets to one soon. usually if you can make it to the second month you are home free, it just depends on your condition. She may also want them to check early for gestational diabetes. Pcos has alot of similar difficulties processing insulin as a diabetic so she may need a special diet and possibly insulin. Lots of folic acid and iron supplements are recommended.
I don't have PCOS and I don't know what the specific problem is with her blood clotting. But I had a problem with my blood clotting and had to take heparin shots twice a day for the duration of my pregnancy. I saw Dr. Umholtz in Plano. I don't necesarily recommend her for her bedside manner. She doesn't really have one. But not every doctor will give a pregnant woman heparin and she will and that was important to me. If that's something that she can relate to maybe she should check into Dr. Umholtz.
