I will be having a party in May and I know that is a long time away but I'm a planner and want things to be great.
What food would be great and easy. What desserts, drinks, decorations? It's for a sorority group~Beta Sigma Phi and the ages of the women range from early 20's to 50's. Thank you all in advance for all your wonderful suggestions!

What can I do next?

I went to a small party recently (about 13 people) and they had a taco bar and cupcake bar. It was so much fun! She had flour tortillas, corn tortillas, beef, chicken, veggies (for any vegetarians), and all the fixings. The cupcake bar had plain cupcakes and there was different frosting, sprinkles, and candies. She said she bought a boxed cake mix and pre-made frosting. She cooked the beef and chicken the night before and put it in disposable chaffing dishes before the party started to heat. She also had all the veggies cut up, separated the night before, and made the guacamole right before the party. It ended up being easy for her, fun, and delicious!

Oh I LOVE entertaining large groups :) 11 is a cake walk! Do these ladies drink? If so, beer or wine/champagne and a signature drink is nice. So is COFFEE... you can rent expresso and latte machines. Is it sit down? Or more buffet style? Buffets are easier for obvious reasons... you can offer a lot so there's something for everyone, plus you're not so busy that you can't socialize and have some fun yourself. Bottled water is a must... you could ever have Beta Sigma Phi labels printed for them (that would be kind of fun). Flowers for centerpieces can be very cheap if you DIY, and you could include some of the sorotities symbols, or pictures of new/old members or previous events (think nostalgic!)... I would have a guest book the ladies can sign too... if you have future events, bring the same guestbook, and keep adding throughout the years. It would be so nice to be able to look back on it! Add pictures from each event. Send me a message and give me more info if you'd like some extra input... Like I said, I love stuff like this!! HAVE FUN!! :)
