We are in need of new furniture. We've never had a sectional. I think that that would work best in our living room. I'm wondering about seating. With a sofa and love seat you have defined seating areas. With a sectional I'm concerned about guests not sitting that close to each other. Or, if one person lays down on the sofa there is still the loveseat for others. If one person lays down on a sectional does anyone else sit there too? I'm sure this seems silly, but that's my question. Thanks for any feedback.
my friend put me on a task to re-decorate her small living room......there is a beautiful sectional that she ordered its made by rowe furniture....the nice part is you can add pieces to make it as big or small as you want....it holds her family of 5 well
I actually have two sofas. I have separated them and angled them like a sectional with an end table. Having two sofas has giving me more options. Just an idea
Yes most are big enough to lay down and sit on at the same time. I had one for a while but wished I had bought one that had a lower back. Many secttionals have high backs and I think that can cut the space in your room off.
We are personally not big fans of the sectional. We do have a larger family room with plenty of room for the sofa, loveseat and a chair. This works out great for us.
One note...we bought a nice leather set and LOVE it...it is going on 10 yrs old and hanging in there very well (15 yr old daughter, friends over a lot, heavy use and 3 dogs) . When we bought it, we opted to buy an extra ottoman because our space is quite large and we thought it would be nice. I will say that extra ottoman has been well worth the extra money.
We got the particular set I am talking aobut at Dillards and it is by Natuzzi. We got our formal leather set from Leather Sofa Company and LOVE it because they make it to your specifications. It is perfect. The leather is also easy to clen and maintain.

I'm personally not a fan of sectionals. It's always awkward going to someone's house who has one, trying to figure out where to sit without invading someone else's space. Plus, you're at greater odds of ending up in the middle with no arm rest, which I don't find comfortable at all.
Again, just my opinion. I'm happy with our sofa and loveseat.
