Only 3 Kids Can Come to Daughter's Birthday Party......

We just had my daughter's 4th birthday today- we went to Pirate's Cove in Elk Grove Village. We had a BLAST! It is a great place for kids her age. There isn't a lot for adults to do but we had a great time watching the kids have fun. It's $9 a kid for non residents and parents are free. And if you go to Oaklee's guide's webiste they have a dollar off coupon. They also have combo passes for the Pavillion's aquatic center and Pirate's Cove. That way the adults could have some fun too. There are places at Pirate's Cove for picnics too. My daughter LOVED having lunch on the top of the pirate ship. They also have a concession stand where you could purchase lunch.
Or like some one else said Chuck E. Cheese is another option or maybe a park and a picnic or a pool party at a local pool.

What about paying for admission for everyone to go to the local pool, zoo, or local attraction (I dont know where you live)? We run into a similar problem every year because we have a number of family/adults that don't want to be at a "kids" party the whole time. So what we do is have the kids party first. Then bring the kids and their parents back to our house for the BBQ portion. The kids LOVE having their own thing to do, and the adults appreciate being included too.

This year we are holding our daughter's birthday at the local park district pool. We are taking care of all the parents and kids (parents supv required) and then having a 'family BBQ' at home afterwards.

Oaklee's Guide really does have some great ideas on where to go or what to do. If it's just a few kids, you could just "walk in" to a pottery shop where the kids can each pick from several pieces of unpainted pottery. You pay the charges for each kid to pick a piece and paint it. All kids love having their own "art work" to eat from.

There are other places you could still do her party like Chuck E Cheese, Michaels - crafts, Lake View Nature Center in Oak Brook Terrace, park districts do small groups sometimes.
