Hi! Our family is brand new to Louisville, from New York City! We're looking for recommendations on daycare and preschool options for our 2 year old son. We'd love to find a creative & active program for him - he has tons of energy! Also, we're looking for a pediatrician, a vet (2 cats), an OB, a family doctor for my husband & I... any suggestions are welcome! Also, we're interested in signing up our son for swimming lessons... any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your advice!

Hi B.,

I cannot help you with any of your questions as I am also new to Louisville and looking for all the same info. I just had to respond because it was funny to me. We are the same age with a 2 year old and in need of a fabulous daycare!

They offer swimming lessons at the Y, but if you are looking for something other than the Y, I would love to know if you find anything.

Good Luck

Great to have you in Louisville. WELCOME! :)

I have lived here all my life. I have been to NYC when I was 14 years old about 30 years ago OOPS I told you my age. My husband wants to go to NYC so maybe you can help me out when the time comes about what to go see besides the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building etc. Stuff for kids...

Anyways, I live in Polo Fields and about daycare Kids Academy on Shelbyville Rd (right off of the Snyder)is the best. My baby is almost 2 and loves it. They actually "teach" her everyday. It is so worth it. They truly love the kids and the kids love the staff. Their phone number is ###-###-####.

OB - I love Dr. Price at Women's First in front of Baptist East - The whole group of women are great. Smart and caring. I have seen them all. Again you can tell them I sent you. They all spent a lot of time with me - had a HARD pregnancy. Phone number ###-###-####.

Family doctor - I love Paul Ciliberti on Shelbyville Rd behind Pauls. He is GREAT and really cares about his patient's. Phone number ###-###-####.

As far as swim lessons go. There is a place in Shelbyville can't think of the name but I took my 10 year old when she was small and she was terrified of water and now she is on the swim team for the 3rd year. They have a great program. If you call information for Shelbyville I bet they would know. It is a big recreation place 2 indoor pools and 1 outside. Very nice and not very expensive.

Hope that helps.
